Micron Technology is an American semiconductor company founded in Boise, Idaho in 1978 and one of only a handful of manufacturers of both DRAM and NAND flash memory. It designs and fabricates memory and storage products used in data centres, personal computers, smartphones, cars and industrial equipment, and sells them under the Micron and consumer-facing Crucial brands. High-bandwidth memory for AI accelerators has become the fastest-growing part of the business, and the company operates fabrication and assembly sites across the United States and Asia.

Our vision is to transform how the world uses information to enrich life for all.

Micron Technology is a world leader in innovating memory and storage solutions that accelerate the transformation of information into intelligence, inspiring the world to learn, communicate and advance faster than ever.

At Micron Technology, we are transforming how the world uses information through innovative memory and semiconductor solutions. Our engineering teams collaborate globally across technology development, advanced memory design, product development, systems design, and validation to deliver industry-leading memory products. This role partners closely with Design, Verification, Product Engineering, Test, Probe, Process Integration, Assembly, and Marketing teams to develop high-quality, cost-effective, and reliable solutions.

As a Design Engineer, you will be responsible for the design, analysis, and optimization of digital and analog circuits used in memory products. You will contribute to semiconductor design engineering activities including circuit design, chip layout, simulation, verification, documentation, and silicon validation. The successful candidate will help develop innovative memory architectures while ensuring optimal power, performance, area, manufacturability, and product quality.

Responsibilities

  • Design, layout, simulate, and optimize memory circuits and semiconductor devices to meet performance, power, area, and reliability requirements.
  • Develop and support schematic blocks including memory arrays, control logic, address decoding, datapath circuitry, and internal test logic using industry-standard tools such as SPICE and Verilog.
  • Perform circuit verification, parasitic extraction analysis, design rule optimization, and debug activities to improve functionality, manufacturability, and yield.
  • Collaborate with multi-functional engineering teams to define test chip strategies, support silicon validation, and resolve product development challenges.
  • Apply AI-Enabled tools and methodologies to improve design efficiency, enhance analysis workflows, and drive continuous improvements in the semiconductor design process.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) or higher degree in Electrical Engineering or a closely related field.
  • Basic understanding of memory array architectures, memory circuits, and semiconductor device operation.
  • Experience with circuit simulation, setup, debugging, and analysis using industry-standard simulation tools.
  • Ability to interpret device specifications and translate requirements into functional circuit designs.
  • Demonstrated written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present technical concepts to engineering peers and management.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience designing semiconductor circuits, memory products, or related integrated circuit technologies.
  • Knowledge of circuit layout, parasitic extraction, and design-for-manufacturability (DFM) methodologies.
  • Experience using SPICE, Verilog, or comparable circuit design and verification tools.
  • Understanding of the impact of architectural decisions on power consumption, speed, area, and overall product performance.
  • Demonstrated ability to use AI-Enabled solutions, data-driven approaches, or automation techniques to improve engineering productivity and design quality.
