Because doing so can fuel the very innovation we are pursuing.\nPhysical Security Specialist\nMission Statement\n\nTo protect Micron's people, assets, facilities, operations, and intellectual property through effective security operations, risk management, investigations, security technology, and continuous improvement initiatives that enable a safe, secure, and resilient business environment.\n Position Overview\nThe Physical Security Specialist is responsible for supporting and executing physical security programs across assigned facilities and operations. This role serves as a subject matter expert in security operations, investigations, risk management, security technology, and incident response.\nThe successful candidate will independently manage security initiatives, conduct investigations, assess risks, oversee contract security providers, and collaborate with business stakeholders to develop and implement security solutions that protect people, assets, and intellectual property. The role requires strong analytical, operational, and communication skills, along with the ability to leverage emerging technologies, including Artificial Intelligence (AI), to improve security effectiveness and operational efficiency.\n Key Responsibilities\nSecurity Operations\nManage day-to-day physical security operations to ensure the protection of personnel, facilities, assets, and intellectual property.\nLead and coordinate response efforts for security incidents, emergencies, and crisis situations.\nConduct facility inspections, security assessments, and operational reviews to identify vulnerabilities and recommend corrective actions.\nProvide security consultation and support to site leadership and business stakeholders.\nSupport emergency response, crisis management, and business continuity activities as required.\nDevelop and maintain site security procedures, post orders, and operational guidelines.\nInvestigations & Incident Management\nLead or support investigations involving theft, workplace misconduct, policy violations, insider threats, workplace violence, and other security-related incidents.\nCollect, preserve, review, and analyze evidence, including CCTV footage, access control records, visitor logs, and witness statements.\nEnsure proper documentation, evidence handling, and chain-of-custody procedures are maintained.\nPrepare comprehensive investigative reports, findings, recommendations, and corrective action plans.\nMonitor incident trends and identify opportunities to reduce security risks through proactive interventions.\nRisk Management & Compliance\nConduct security risk assessments, threat assessments, and vulnerability assessments.\nSupport compliance with corporate security standards, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices.\nParticipate in internal and external audits and drive remediation efforts to closure.\nIdentify security gaps and implement mitigation measures to strengthen overall site security posture.\nSupport the development and maintenance of security policies, standards, and procedures.\nSecurity Systems & Technology\nAdminister and optimize physical security systems, including access control systems, video surveillance systems (CCTV), alarm monitoring platforms, visitor management systems, and intrusion detection solutions.\nAnalyze system performance and recommend enhancements to improve operational effectiveness and user experience.\nSupport security technology deployments, upgrades, system integrations, and lifecycle management activities.\nPartner with Facilities, Information Security, IT, and vendors to resolve system issues and implement new capabilities.\nMaintain system documentation, user permissions, and operational records.\nAI & Security Innovation\nLeverage AI-enabled tools and technologies to enhance security operations, investigations, reporting, incident response, and operational efficiency.\nUtilize AI-assisted analytics to identify trends, anomalies, suspicious activities, and emerging security risks.\nDrive adoption of data-driven decision-making through AI, automation, and advanced analytics.\nIdentify opportunities to automate manual security processes and improve operational effectiveness.\nSupport pilot programs and implementation of emerging security technologies, including AI-powered video analytics, intelligent monitoring solutions, and predictive risk analysis tools.\nPromote the responsible, ethical, and compliant use of AI in accordance with company policies, legal requirements, and privacy obligations.\nStay informed on emerging technology trends and security innovations to continuously improve security capabilities.\nVendor & Stakeholder Management\nManage and oversee contract security providers to ensure compliance with contractual requirements, site expectations, and performance standards.\nConduct vendor performance reviews, audits, training assessments, and operational evaluations.\nBuild strong working relationships with business leaders and cross-functional partners, including Facilities, EHS, HR, Legal, Information Security, Supply Chain, Engineering, and Project teams.\nLiaise with local law enforcement agencies, emergency responders, and government authorities as required.\nSupport security awareness initiatives and promote a culture of security across the organization.\nProject Management & Continuous Improvement\nSupport security design reviews, construction projects, facility expansions, and operational readiness activities.\nLead or participate in security improvement projects and operational excellence initiatives.\nAnalyze security metrics, incident data, and performance indicators to identify trends and improvement opportunities.\nDevelop business cases and recommendations to enhance security programs, processes, and technologies.\nSupport strategic security initiatives aligned with organizational objectives and future business growth.\n\nMinimum Qualifications\nBachelor's Degree in Security Management, Criminal Justice, Business Administration, Risk Management, Security Studies, or a related discipline; or equivalent relevant experience.\nMinimum 5 years of experience in physical security, corporate security, law enforcement, military, investigations, risk management, or related fields.\nExperience conducting investigations, security assessments, incident management, and operational risk analysis.\nStrong understanding of physical security principles, risk management methodologies, and security technologies.\nExperience managing vendors and contract security service providers.\nDemonstrated ability to build relationships and influence stakeholders across multiple functions.\nStrong written, verbal, analytical, and presentation skills.\nAbility to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.\n\nPreferred Qualifications\nProfessional certifications such as ASIS Certified Protection Professional (CPP) Physical Security Professional (PSP) Professional Certified Investigator (PCI) Certified Security Management Professional (CSMP) Security Risk Management certifications or equivalent\nExperience supporting manufacturing, semiconductor, technology, critical infrastructure, or global corporate environments.\nExperience leading security technology deployments, facility expansions, and security improvement projects.\nKnowledge of crisis management, emergency response, business continuity, and intelligence-driven security practices.\nExperience utilizing AI-powered tools, analytics platforms, automation technologies, or digital solutions to improve security operations and
