Micron's Registered Apprenticeship Program offers a unique opportunity to combine classroom learning with real-world experience in a cutting-edge manufacturing environment.\nAs a Technician Apprentice at Micron Technology in Boise, Idaho, you will work in our world-class Fab while completing the Semiconductor Manufacturing Technician (SMT) Certificate and earning a STEM-focused Associate of Applied Science (AAS) degree through the College of Western Idaho (CWI).\nOur apprenticeship follows an earn-and-learn model, combining paid on-the-job training, structured mentorship, technical education, and career development. Upon completion, apprentices earn a U.S. Department of Labor-recognized credential, an associate degree, and the experience needed to pursue long-term career opportunities within Micron.\nAs a Process Technician Apprentice, you will learn to monitor, control, troubleshoot, and improve semiconductor manufacturing processes used to produce leading-edge memory technology. Working alongside production teams, technicians, and engineers, you will support safe, efficient, and reliable fab operations while developing the technical skills needed for a long-term career in advanced manufacturing.\nYou will assist with monitoring process performance, identifying and resolving process-related issues, collecting and analyzing data, and supporting continuous improvement efforts. Using technical, analytical, and problem-solving skills, you'll gain hands-on experience with advanced semiconductor manufacturing processes and technologies while helping maintain product quality, yield, and operational excellence.\nKey Responsibilities\nPartner with production, engineering, and technician teams to support daily fab operations\nMonitor process performance, identify issues, and support operational efficiency\nTroubleshoot process-related issues and support resolution efforts\nCollect, analyze, and document process data to support operational decision-making\nAccurately document work performed and communicate updates clearly\nComplete required safety training and follow all safety protocols\nSupport continuous improvement efforts across the fab\nAdhere to all apprenticeship program guidelines and expectations\nLeverage Artificial Intelligence (AI) and other digital tools to support learning, problem-solving, data analysis, and operational efficiency\nMinimum Qualifications\nHigh School Diploma or GED\nWillingness and ability to enroll in and successfully complete the Semiconductor Manufacturing Technician (SMT) Certificate and a STEM-focused Associate of Applied Science (AAS) degree through the College of Western Idaho (CWI) as a required component of the apprenticeship program\nBasic to intermediate PC skills (Microsoft Office Suite, Teams, Zoom)\nStrong time management and organizational skills\nReliable written and verbal communication skills\nAbility to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment\nAbility to work rotating shifts, including nights, while balancing apprenticeship coursework.
