Apprentices will gain foundational skills supporting either semiconductor equipment handling or Facilities systems, based on business need, proficiency, and progression, while building awareness of how AI and automation are integrated into modern manufacturing.\nThis earn and learn program is designed to align with your academic schedule while providing real-world experience maintaining, fixing, and improving critical manufacturing and infrastructure systems, including opportunities to engage with data-driven and AI-enabled tools that support operational excellence.\nProgram Scope\nRegistered Technician Apprentices could be assigned to:\nFab Equipment Operations:Supporting semiconductor production tools used in wafer manufacturing\n\nFacilities & Infrastructure Systems:Supporting HVAC, electrical, mechanical, and facility control systems critical to fab operations\n\nFinal pathway placement may depend on operational demand, apprentice performance, and shown interest.\nKey Responsibilities\nAdhere to all registered apprenticeship guidelines, program requirements, and instructions from the program lead\nComplete required safety training and perform all work in strict accordance with safety policies\nDemonstrate strong safety culture through audits, hazard identification, and “good catch” reporting\nPartner with Production, Shift Technicians, Engineers, and Facilities teams to support daily priorities\nMonitor system or tool performance and respond appropriately to alarms, faults, or abnormal conditions\nAssist with scheduled preventative maintenance on assigned equipment or systems\nIdentify and fix basic to intermediate mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, or software-related issues\nAccurately document work performed, tool or system status, and maintenance actions\nFollow established procedures while developing the capacity to operate with growing independence\nContribute to continuous improvement, reliability, and problem-solving initiatives\nWork in cleanroom, industrial, and electro-static discharge (ESD) sensitive environments\nUse computers and user documentation tools to support maintenance and reporting activities\nDepending on assignment, apprentices may be exposed to:\nFab Equipment Examples:\nDiffusion / Implant, PCVD, Wet Chemical Processing, Dry Etch / Plasma, CMP, Photolithography, Fab Support tools\nFacilities Systems Examples:\nHVAC systems, facility instrumentation and controls, electrical and mechanical infrastructure, pneumatic systems, building automation systems, monitoring and alarm interfaces\nPreferred Qualifications\nCoursework or hands-on exposure to electronics, electricity, HVAC, instrumentation, mechatronics, or industrial systems\nBasic understanding of AC/DC electrical fundamentals\nExposure to manufacturing, maintenance, military technical training, or lab environments\nFamiliarity with reading schematics, drawings, or technical manuals\nInterest in semiconductor manufacturing or critical infrastructure systems\nWhat Micron Offers\nPaid Registered Apprenticeship with structured wage progression\nTuition support for approved technical education programs\nHands-on training with sophisticated manufacturing and facilities systems\nMentorship from expert Technicians and Engineers\nMultiple long-term career pathways: Fab Equipment Technician or Facilities Technician (HVAC, Controls, Instrumentation)\nA strong safety-first culture and inclusive team environment\nAs a world leader in the semiconductor industry, Micron is dedicated to your personal wellbeing and professional growth.
