The finance group in Boise Operations collaborates with site operations and global finance teams to build scalable finance processes, boost cost insight, and support business decisions as the site progresses through construction, startup, manufacturing ramp, and ongoing operations.\nPosition Overview\nThe Senior Financial Analyst I reports to the Director, Boise Front-End Controller and is part of the Boise Operations Finance group. This position supports Boise front-end manufacturing operations by managing budgeting and oversight tasks related to construction, startup, manufacturing ramp, and ongoing operations.\nIn this position, you will prepare budgets, forecasts, product-cost inputs, financial analyses, and management reports. You will explain financial and operating results against budgets and offer information and recommendations to guide business decisions. You will collaborate closely with the Boise office and international teams, including Financial Planning and Analysis, Global Cost Consolidations, and Global Central Finance.\nIn this role, you will gain manufacturing-finance proficiency through practical involvement in planning, cost analysis, financial reporting, and partnering with business units. You will join expert site and global finance professionals and are anticipated to expand your independence and range of duties over time.\nResponsibilities\nFinancial Forecasting and Evaluation\nPrepare and maintain financial models, forecasts, and budget inputs for designated manufacturing activities.\nPrepare budget-to-actual analyses, explain significant cost and operational drivers, and identify items requiring follow-up.\nTrack assigned operational and financial performance measures and prepare recurring reports for operations and finance collaborators.\nConduct scenario analysis based on assumptions supplied by site and Global Front-End Finance teams.\nConvert financial and operational data into clear observations and recommendations that support business decisions.\nManufacturing Finance and Accounting Support\nPartner with operations to develop quarterly product-cost and operating-expense inputs, including raw materials, spare parts, and repairs and maintenance.\nSupply financial and operational data to global Central Finance groups for use in financial models, forecasts, and reporting.\nCoordinate and maintain cost-center updates in finance systems to support accurate reporting and approval workflows.\nPrepare and post recurring monthly journal entries and maintain appropriate supporting documentation.\nSupport month-end and quarter-end close activities for assigned areas.\nBusiness Partnership and Process Improvement\nCollaborate with Boise operations and global finance teams to analyze financial results, recognize risks and opportunities, and assist in business decisions.\nIdentify cost-reduction and productivity opportunities and support cross-functional improvement initiatives.\nSupport the implementation and consistent use of standardized finance processes, systems, and procedures.\nFind opportunities to simplify recurring work, improve data accuracy, and automate reporting or analysis. \nBoost efficiency, data quality, and financial decision support through the adoption of AI-enabled solutions.\nMinimum Qualifications\nBachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related area.\nMore than 5 years of pertinent experience in financial analysis, FP&A, accounting, cost finance, or a similar area.\nExperience working with financial systems, spreadsheets, and data presentation solutions to analyze data and prepare financial information. \nExperience developing financial models and applying fiscal and business data to guide decisions. \nAbility to communicate financial information clearly to finance and non-finance audiences.\nKnowledge of U.S. GAAP and financial-control principles.\nAbility to work independently on assigned responsibilities, manage multiple priorities, and seek guidance on unfamiliar or complex matters.\nPreferred Qualifications\nExperience in semiconductor, electronics manufacturing, advanced manufacturing, or another high-technology industry.\nExperience with manufacturing cost accounting, product costing, budgeting, forecasting, or variance analysis.\nProficiency in Excel, including formulas, data analysis, and financial modeling.\nExperience with SAP, SAP Analytics Cloud, Tableau, Power BI, or similar ERP, planning, and reporting tools.\nCurious and motivated to learn, with an interest in improving finance processes and tools.\nStrong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to accuracy and data quality.\nAbility to build effective working relationships across finance and operations.\nExperience using automation, analytics, or AI-enabled tools to improve recurring finance work.\nAs a world leader in the semiconductor industry, Micron is dedicated to your personal wellbeing and professional growth.
