As our programs become larger and increasingly interconnected, successful fab startup requires strong integration across construction, facilities, procurement, logistics, tool installation, qualification, manufacturing readiness, and production ramp.\nWe are seeking a Senior Principal Program Manager, Program & Tool Installation Integration to lead end-to-end integration for the Maple/F15 startup program in Hiroshima, Japan.\nThis role has a dual mandate:\nDeliver Maple/F15: Lead program and tool-installation integration across the full startup lifecycle, establishing clear dependencies, priorities, constraints, risks, and mitigation actions across functional organizations.\nDevelop Future Capability: Leverage the Maple/F15 execution environment to identify, develop, validate, and continuously improve integrated program-management and Tool Installation & Qualification approaches that can contribute to the evolution of Micron’s global manufacturing expansion capabilities.\nThe successful candidate will be a senior integration leader who can connect organizations, processes, schedules, and data to enable earlier risk identification, better decision-making, and more predictable startup execution.\nThis direction is complementary to Micron’s existing Global TIQ initiative, which is focused on a globally standardized execution model, explicit ownership across TIQ phases, improved readiness predictability, and shorter cycle times.\nKey Responsibilities\n1. Maple/F15 Program Integration\nLead development and execution of an integrated startup framework connecting construction, facilities, procurement, logistics, tool installation, qualification, manufacturing readiness, and production ramp.\nDevelop and maintain the program-level integrated master schedule, including key milestones, interfaces, dependencies, assumptions, constraints, and decision points.\nIntegrate functional schedules into an end-to-end program view that enables teams to understand upstream and downstream impacts.\nEstablish clear relationships between construction readiness, utility readiness, tool-installation requirements, qualification, and manufacturing need dates.\nIdentify critical and near-critical paths and proactively drive resolution of cross-functional constraints.\nEvaluate the program impact of changes in scope, schedule, design, layout, tool plan, procurement, resources, and priorities.\nLead scenario analysis and recovery planning when changes affect key startup milestones.\nEstablish effective program-level change management and escalation mechanisms.\nProvide integrated program status, risks, scenarios, and recommendations to site and senior leadership.\nDrive alignment toward a reliable single source of truth for program milestones and dependencies.\nThe last point builds naturally on the existing Maple approach, where the project has emphasized maintaining a single source of truth across schedule, scope, and cost.\n2. End-to-End Tool Installation & Qualification Integration\nLead integration across the complete tool startup lifecycle, including:\nTool Planning → Procurement → Logistics & Transportation → Receiving/Dock → Move-In → Facility Readiness → Tool Hookup → Utility Turn-On → Vendor Installation → Equipment Qualification → Process Qualification → Manufacturing Release\nSpecific responsibilities include:\nEstablish the integrated TIQ execution framework for Maple/F15.\nIntegrate tool plans and manufacturing priorities with construction, facilities, procurement, logistics, and resource readiness.\nDefine critical tool-installation milestones, interfaces, dependencies, handoffs, and readiness requirements.\nIntegrate dock capacity, transportation, rigging, move-in, supporting equipment, utility availability, hookup, vendor resources, and qualification requirements.\nProvide visibility to tool-level and fleet-level constraints and their impact on manufacturing priorities.\nIdentify conflicts and constraints early, before they impact critical tool or ramp milestones.\nDevelop integrated mitigation and recovery options when tool delivery, facilities, construction, vendor resources, or qualification plans change.\nEstablish appropriate change-control mechanisms for major tool-plan, layout, delivery, facility, and qualification changes.\nDrive resolution of cross-functional issues that cannot be resolved within an individual organization.\nImprove predictability of tool readiness and overall startup performance.\nInternal Micron material has similarly explored integrating construction/base-build readiness with tool-hookup schedules and manufacturing need dates to expose readiness constraints and priorities earlier.\n3. Program & TIQ Capability Development\nBeyond Maple/F15 execution, this position will act as a key leader and contributor to the continued evolution of Micron’s program and tool-installation integration capabilities.\nThe role will:\nIdentify systemic gaps and improvement opportunities in existing program and TIQ management practices.\nDevelop improved integration methodologies, standard milestone structures, dependency logic, and readiness criteria.\nDefine business-process, governance, data, and reporting requirements needed to enable effective end-to-end program integration.\nPartner with site and global stakeholders to develop scalable solutions rather than project-specific workarounds.\nCapture lessons learned and best practices from Maple/F15 and convert them into reusable program-management capabilities.\nSupport standardization and replication of successful integration practices across Micron’s global manufacturing network.\nPartner with digital, data, scheduling, and system teams to improve automation, analytics, forecasting, and decision support.\nDrive continuous improvement in schedule predictability, tool readiness, cycle time, resource utilization, and execution effectiveness.\nProvide leadership and subject-matter expertise to future global program and TIQ improvement initiatives.\nThis is also consistent with Micron's broader project-management systems direction, where integrated platforms are intended to connect people, processes, and project data while reducing inconsistent tools and manual workarounds.\n4. Cross-Functional & Global Leadership\nProvide senior leadership across a highly matrixed, multicultural organization without depending on direct reporting authority.\nBuild strong partnerships across Construction, Facilities, Manufacturing, Procurement, Supply Chain, Logistics, Engineering, Planning, IT/Digital, EHS, Finance, and external suppliers.\nFacilitate alignment when functional priorities, assumptions, requirements, or schedules conflict.\nTranslate complex technical and schedule dependencies into clear business impacts, alternatives, and decisions.\nEstablish effective governance, action tracking, escalation, and decision-making mechanisms.\nCommunicate effectively with technical teams, program leaders, site leadership, and global executives.\nPromote a collaborative, one-team operating model while respecting functional ownership and accountability.\nCoach and develop program managers, schedulers, tool-installation coordinators, and functional workstream leaders as appropriate.\nRepresent Maple/F15 in applicable global integration and continuous-improvement initiatives.\n\nRequired Qualifications\nBachelor’s degree in Engineering, Semiconductor Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering, Construction Management, Project/Program Management, Operations, or a related technical discipline.\n15+ years of relevant experience in semiconductor manufacturing, fab startup, facilities, construction, program management, tool installation, or related fields.\nExtensive experience leading large-scale, complex semiconductor fab startup or expansion programs.\nStrong understanding of the semiconductor manufacturing lifecycle and the dependencies between construction, facilities, tool installation, qualification, manufacturing readiness, and production ramp.\nDemonstrated knowledge of semiconductor equipment/tool installation, including logistics, move-in, facilities hookup, utility turn-on, vendor installation, equipment qualification, and release to manufacturing.\nDemonstrated experience developing and managing integrated schedules, dependencies, constraints, critical paths, risks, and mitigation plans.\nProven ability to lead and influence complex cross-functional organizations without direct authority.\nStrong structured and modular problem-solving capability, with the ability to decompose complex issues, identify root causes, and develop executable solutions.\nExcellent interpersonal, stakeholder-management, facilitation, negotiation, and conflict-resolution skills.\nStrong written, verbal, and executive-level communication skills.\nFluent business English required.\nPreferred Qualifications\n20+ years of relevant semiconductor industry experience.\nJapanese-language capability.\nExperience working in Japan or with Japanese engineering, construction, manufacturing, or supplier organizations.\nSuccessful experience with both greenfield and brownfield semiconductor expansions.\nExperience integrating construction/facilities schedules with tool-installation and manufacturing ramp schedules.\nExperience with Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, Power BI, Procore, or comparable planning/program management systems.\nExperience developing program-management business processes, digital integration solutions, or single-source-of-truth data environments.\nExperience supporting multiple semiconductor manufacturing sites or global programs.\nPMP or equivalent program/project-management certification.\nAbout Micron Technology, Inc.\nWe are an industry leader in innovative memory and storage solutions transforming how the world uses information to enrich life for all.
