This role is perfect for someone who is looking for casual work as this is not a full-time permanent role, rather it is a 4-month fixed term agreement. In this role, you would be accountable for deploying and retiring various IT hardware products such as printers, multi-function devices, copiers, plotters, etc. \n\nThis role typically involves physical installation, transfer of settings or data, and support for Printers and Peripherals. This position requires travel and presence on client sites such as healthcare, government, and post-secondary institutions. \n\nResponsibilities: \n\nAssemble, configure and install printers for new deployments \n\nProvide customers with basic training on assigned products in accordance with current field procedures \n\nCan complete basic installations: must be able to connect individual devices to the customers network and install drivers onto PCs/print servers \n\nResponsible for assigned company assets (i.e., parts, tools, communication and computing devices, vehicles) \n\nAdheres to documented escalation procedures to resolve customer issues \n\nCorrects service problems with the assigned products with some assistance, as required. \n\nUses basic information about the customer to anticipate needs and to represent our clients in a professional manner \n\nSkills/Qualifications: \n\nMinimum: High School Diploma / GED (experience with computers, electronics, mechanics, etc. is desired) \n\nPreferred: College Diploma / Associate Degree (technical field) or equivalent certification \n\nPreferred: 1-2 years of experience as a Deployment Technician in an on-site role \n\nKnowledge of desktop hardware, preferably from an enterprise or business environment\n\nExperience in printer assembly or repair\n\nAbility and willingness to work variable hours if necessary (extended hours, weekends, on call, abbreviated work week) \n\nProven previous customer facing technical competence \n\nDemonstrated Windows and Network Connectivity competency \n\nMS Office experience is considered an asset \n\nDemonstrated competency in use of laptop applications \n\nExceptional communication and customer service skills and the ability and desire to work in a collaborative team environment \n\nCommunicates clearly and confidently with the customer both written and orally as required \n\nMust be able to lift up to 60 lbs. on a regular basis \n\nMust be able to pass a criminal record check \n\nComfortable to drive a van or 2 – ton truck when needed \n\nCandidate must possess a valid (full) driver’s license (the license may not include restrictions) and a satisfactory driving record \n\nCompensation: In accordance with the BC Pay Transparency Act the range for this role for BC residents is $23.00 to $26.00 hourly.
