center construction while progressively taking responsibility for specific scopes, systems, and project deliverables.\nResponsibilities\nConstruction & Field Execution\nSupport the Construction Manager with day-to-day execution of assigned data center construction projects.\nMaintain an active presence in the field to understand construction progress, constraints, quality concerns, and upcoming activities.\nMonitor contractor work for general compliance with project drawings, specifications, approved submittals, and project requirements.\nSupport coordination between the GC, trade contractors, design teams, commissioning teams, and Microsoft stakeholders.\nAssist with resolving field coordination and constructability issues.\nTrack assigned issues and action items through resolution.\nTake ownership of defined work packages or construction scopes with guidance from the Construction Manager.\nParticipate in construction walks, inspections, readiness reviews, and project meetings.\nSchedule & Progress\nDevelop an understanding of the overall project schedule, major milestones, and critical construction activities.\nMonitor progress of assigned scopes against the contractor’s schedule.\nCompare reported construction progress with actual field conditions.\nIdentify potential delays or constraints and communicate them to the Construction Manager.\nTrack upcoming activities and help confirm prerequisite work is complete.\nSupport construction readiness for commissioning, energization, Integrated Systems Testing (IST), and turnover activities.\nQuality\nSupport Microsoft’s expectations for quality construction and a “build it right the first time” culture.\nParticipate in quality walks and inspections with Microsoft, the GC, and trade partners.\nIdentify incomplete, damaged, or potentially non-conforming work and communicate concerns to the appropriate project leadership.\nTrack quality observations, punch-list items, and corrective actions through closure.\nAssist in identifying recurring quality issues and verifying that corrective actions are implemented.\nDevelop an understanding of Microsoft construction and quality requirements.\nSafety\nActively support Microsoft’s safety culture and expectations.\nParticipate in field safety walks and project safety discussions.\nImmediately communicate unsafe conditions or behaviors to appropriate project leadership.\nSupport the Construction Manager and GC in ensuring corrective actions are implemented.\nDemonstrate through daily actions that safety takes priority over schedule and cost.\nTechnical & Design Coordination\nSupport the RFI, submittal, and design clarification processes.\nAssist in coordinating field questions between contractors, designers, engineers, vendors, and Microsoft stakeholders.\nReview construction drawings and specifications associated with assigned scopes.\nDevelop familiarity with data center mechanical, electrical, controls, architectural, structural, and technology systems.\nHelp verify that approved design changes are communicated and incorporated into field execution.\nContractor Coordination\nBuild productive working relationships with General Contractors and trade partners.\nParticipate in contractor coordination and progress meetings.\nTrack contractor commitments, action items, and required completion dates.\nFollow up on outstanding items and escalate concerns to the Construction Manager when appropriate.\nDevelop the ability to professionally challenge contractors when field conditions, quality, or progress do not align with project requirements.\nLearn how to balance collaboration with appropriate contractor accountability.\nProject Documentation & Closeout\nSupport tracking of RFIs, submittals, quality observations, punch-list items, and other construction deliverables.\nMaintain accurate records of assigned project actions and decisions.\nAssist with project turnover and closeout activities.\nSupport collection and verification of as-built drawings, warranties, training documentation, testing records, and other required turnover information.\nHelp ensure construction documentation is complete before turnover to Commissioning and Operations.\nQualifications\nRequired Qualifications:\nBachelor's Degree in Construction Project Management, Architecture, Engineering, or related field AND 3+ years related experience\nOR equivalent experience.\nPreferred Qualifications:\nBachelor's Degree in Construction Project Management, Architecture, Engineering, or related field AND 6+ years related experience\nOR equivalent experience.\n5+ years experience working on data center projects.\nBackground Check Requirements:\nAbility to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:\nMicrosoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.\n#COICareers | #EPCCareers | #DCDCareers\nConstruction Project Management IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $97,600 - $188,400 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $125,000 - $206,400 per year.\nCertain roles may be eligible for benefits and other compensation.
