This role will work closely with attorneys, product teams, engineers, and security professionals to help identify and address legal issues that arise during product development and operations.\nThe Corporate Counsel will contribute to a wide range of product and security matters while developing expertise in cybersecurity, AI, cloud services, and technology regulation.\nSecurity and trust are foundational to Microsoft's products and services. This role offers the opportunity to work on complex and evolving legal issues at the intersection of technology, cybersecurity, AI, and cloud computing while partnering with experienced attorneys and teams across Microsoft.\nResponsibilities\nProvide legal support on product, security, and technology matters across the product lifecycle.\nAssist attorneys in reviewing new features, product launches, and security initiatives.\nResearch and analyze legal, regulatory, and policy developments relevant to Microsoft's products and services.\nHelp assess legal and regulatory issues related to cybersecurity, product security, artificial intelligence, and cloud technologies.\nPartner with stakeholders across engineering, security, privacy, compliance, and legal teams to support business objectives and help address legal risks.\nSupport incident response and other security-related matters by gathering facts, coordinating with stakeholders, and assisting with legal analysis.\nDraft and review legal guidance, training materials, presentations, and internal communications.\nContribute to the development of practical resources and processes that help teams identify and address legal issues early.\nQualifications\nRequired/minimum qualifications\nJuris Doctor Degree or international equivalent degree AND 1+ year(s) experience as a practicing attorneyOR equivalent experience.\n\nActive license to practice law in a jurisdiction and capable of meeting admission requirements in relevant jurisdiction.\nAdditional or preferred qualifications\n4+ years of legal experience, including law firm, in-house, government, clerkship, or other relevant legal experience.\nInterest in technology, cybersecurity, cloud services, artificial intelligence, or product counseling.\nAnalytical, research and writing skills.\nAbility to manage multiple projects and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.\nDemonstrated ability to collaborate with attorneys, business teams, and technical stakeholders.\nExposure to cybersecurity, privacy, technology transactions, product counseling, regulatory, or compliance matters.\nFamiliarity with technology products, online services, or emerging technologies.\nExperience working on cross-functional projects involving legal and business stakeholders.\nLegal Counsel IC3 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $105,800 - $204,000 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $138,400 - $223,300 per year.\nCertain roles may be eligible for benefits and other compensation.
