Each day we build on our values of respect, integrity, and accountability to create a culture of inclusion where everyone can thrive at work and beyond.\nResponsibilities\nValidate software, driver and firmware updates on Surface devices and accessories, and sign off releases against quality criteria. \nReproduce, debug and triage software issues on Surface products, partnering with developers and program managers to drive fixes. \nPlan and execute test passes, and contribute to test strategies, test cases and validation coverage. \nHelp set up and maintain lab infrastructure and build and extend test automation frameworks. \nSupport integration and configuration management activities for servicing releases. \nAssist in building and maintaining telemetry pipelines and dashboards, and contribute to data analysis and reporting. \nApply an understanding of real-time, embedded firmware along with solid troubleshooting skills to help isolate problems quickly. \nQualifications\nRequired/Minimum Qualifications:\nBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics, or equivalent experience.\n5+ years experience as a Software Development Engineer, or Test or Validation Engineer, or equivalent experience.\n5+ years of experience programming or validating using applications or tools developed in C, C++, C#, PowerShell, Python, or similar languages.\nExperience in the development and/or validation of personal computing devices, tablets, mobile phones, or other mobile computer devices or accessories, gaming systems, or servers.\nExperience developing, debugging, and/or validating one or more of the following on the Windows operating system, kernel-mode device drivers, firmware, UEFI.\nExperience developing and executing software testing methodologies, strategies, procedures, tools and metrics.\nExperience with sustaining or servicing products after launch.\nExperience gathering and analyzing telemetry data to improve software reliability or performance.\n#W+DJOBS\n#W+D\nOther Requirements: Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role.
