They need technical partners who can move from vision to architecture, proofand production quickly.\n\nCustomer work isspanning agentic AI, Azure AI Foundry, Azure OpenAI, data modernization, cloud-native applications, developer productivity, capacity planning, security, governanceand FinOps.\n\nThe role requires both technical depth and commercial judgement: the SE must influence senior technical leaders, remove blockers, qualify technical risk, create repeatable patternsand help progress opportunities across regions.\n\nThe Solution Engineer will serve as a technical advisor for priority EMEA customers, leading technical discovery, architecture, demonstrations, proofs of concept, and production-readiness engagements. Each day we build on our values of respect, integrity, and accountability to create a culture of inclusion where everyone can thrive at work and beyond.\nIn line with our Flexible Work approach, for roles at Microsoft Germany, we recommend spending at least two days per week in the office or at the customer site.\nResponsibilities\nOwn technical strategy for assigned Digital Native and Startup customers from discovery through technical close, MVP, pilotand production adoption.\n\nLead architecture-led customer conversations across Azure AI, application innovation, data platforms, developer tools, cloud operations, governanceand security.\n\nDesign credible end-to-end solutions using services such as Azure AI Foundry, Azure OpenAI, agents and RAG patterns, Azure Kubernetes Service, containers, serverless, APIs, Cosmos DB, Azure SQL, PostgreSQL, Microsoft Fabric, Azure Databricks, Power BIand GitHub.\n\nDeliver demos, whiteboarding sessions, architecture workshops, proof of concepts and technical validations that demonstrateclear business value and path to production.\n\nTranslate customer product goals, business priorities and technical complexity into decision criteria, success plans, implementationroadmapsand measurable outcomes.\n\nIdentifyand remove technical blockers including architecture gaps, security concerns, capacity and quota constraints, migration risks, integration challengesand operational readiness issues.\n\nPartner with account executives, specialistsand customer success teams to support pipeline creation, opportunity progression, technical win documentation, milestone hygieneand forecast quality.\n\nDifferentiate Microsoft against competitors by positioning Azure as a trusted, secure, scalableand integrated platform for AI-native software companies.\n\nCapture reusable patterns, lessons learned, field feedback and customer insights so the Digital Natives business can scale consistently across US, Asiaand EMEA.\n\nQualifications\nExperience in technical pre-sales, solution engineering, cloud architecture, software engineering, technical consultingor equivalent customer-facing technical role.\n\nDemonstrated ability to influence technical and business stakeholders, including CTOs, founders, engineering leaders, architectsand product leaders.\n\nHands-on understanding of cloud architecture and modern application design, including security, reliability, scalability, integrationand operations.\n\nPractical experience with AI, data, analytics, application modernizationor developer platform solutions on Azure or comparable cloud platforms.\n\nExperience creating demos, prototypes, POCs, pilotsor MVPs that lead to technical decisions and production adoption.\n\nStrong communication, storytellingand collaboration skills; ability to drive consensus without direct authority.\n\nBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology or related field, or equivalent practical experience.\n\nPreferred qualifications\nDepth in one or more of: Azure AI Foundry, Azure OpenAI, agentic systems, RAG, Azure Kubernetes Service, containers, serverless, API platforms, Cosmos DB, Azure SQL, PostgreSQL, Microsoft Fabric, Azure Databricks, Power BIor GitHub.\n\nExperience with Digital Native, Startup, SaaS, marketplace, venture-backed or product-led-growth customer scenarios.\n\nUnderstanding ofAI governance, Responsible AI, security, compliance, model evaluation, observability, cost managementand FinOps.\n\nAbility to support technical sales motions across complex territories, multiple stakeholdersand fast-moving customer priorities.\n\nExperience with competitive positioning and objection handling in AI, cloud platform, dataor developer tool markets.\n\nDigital Solution Engineering IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across Germany is € 81,500.00 - € 139,200.00 per year.
