As Copilot grows more capable, with stronger models, agents and multimodal experiences, the opportunity is to help people and their organizations feel that value at exactly the right moment, so that choosing a paid plan feels like the obvious next step. We are looking for a Principal Product Manager to lead commercial monetization for Copilot on mobile and define what great AI monetization looks like on the screen people carry everywhere.\nWhy this role, why now\nCopilot recently came together as one app across web, desktop and mobile, bringing chat, agents and creation into a single experience for consumers and businesses. Monetization is moving inside the product, where value is felt. Early signals on mobile are solid, and in-app purchase is now live on iOS and Android. The playbook for monetizing AI at this scale is still being written, and you will help write it.\nHow we work\nSmall, empowered mission team with clear ownership.\nEvery bet starts with a written hypothesis, is measured rigorously, and decisions are made on evidence.\nAI-native by default: we use AI agents and tools throughout our own workflow to research, prototype, analyze and ship faster.\nShip fast, learn faster, scale what works.\nTrust first: we earn every upgrade.\nIndia shapes global strategy here, not just execution.\nYou'll thrive here if…\nYou treat monetization as product craft, not a pricing afterthought.\nYou form a clear point of view, test it quickly and change it when the data says so.\nYou turn ambiguity into a strategy others can rally around.\nYou align teams you don't manage with clarity, rigor and generosity.\nYou grow product managers and raise the bar on experimentation.\nYou already use AI to work faster and want a team that does the same.\nThis role may not be for you if…\nYou prefer a defined roadmap handed to you.\nYou measure success in features shipped rather than customers who value what they pay for.\nYou would rather wait for perfect data than make a well-reasoned call.\nWhy join us\nFew roles let you shape how AI is experienced and valued by businesses around the world. You will work on a global product with the ownership to set direction, alongside a fast-moving, AI-native team. If building the future of AI monetization on mobile excites you, we would love to meet you.\nIn alignment with our Microsoft values, we are committed to cultivating an inclusive work environment for all employees to positively impact our culture every day.\nMicrosoft’s mission is to empower every person and every organization on the planet to achieve more. As employees we come together with a growth mindset, innovate to empower others, and collaborate to realize our shared goals. Each day we build on our values of respect, integrity, and accountability to create a culture of inclusion where everyone can thrive at work and beyond.\nResponsibilities\nWhat you will own\nAs the product leader accountable for commercial monetization on mobile, you set the strategy, choose the best and own the business outcome, from first idea to launch to decision.\nPaid growth: turn in-app interest into paid Microsoft 365 Copilot subscriptions for businesses of every size.\nEffortless purchase: experiences that make it simple for people and their organizations to say yes, on any device.\nThe right moment: well-timed, value-led upgrade experiences across Copilot and Microsoft 365 apps on mobile.\nNew ways to buy: shape emerging models, including usage-based offers, as AI capabilities expand.\nA team and an engine: lead and grow a team of product managers, and partner with engineering, design, data science, marketing and business teams to build an experimentation engine that compounds.\nSuccess means measurable growth in paid conversion, subscriptions and revenue, earned in a way customers trust.\nYour first 30 / 60 / 90 days\nFirst 30 days: understand customers, product and data end to end, and build trust with partners across the company.\nBy 60 days: set a clear monetization strategy with prioritized, hypothesis-led bets.\nBy 90 days: first bets live and measured rigorously, with a team rallying around the plan.\nQualifications\nRequired/Minimum Qualifications:\nBachelor's Degree AND 10 years experience in Product ManagementOR equivalent experience.\n\nAdditional or preferred qualifications\nOther Requirements: Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:\nMicrosoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter. \nPreferred Qualifications:\nBachelor's degree AND 10+ years of product management experience, SaaS or mobile products at scale, OR a master's degree AND 8+ years.OR equivalent experience.\n\nA proven record of growth or monetization outcomes you personally drove.\nExperience with B2B or product-led growth products.\nDepth in designing, running and interpreting experiments at scale.\nMobile app store and in-app purchase experience on iOS and Android.\nSelf-serve and business purchase experiences, pricing and packaging, or usage-based models.\nExperience building AI products, and comfort pulling your own data with SQL.\nExperience leading and developing product managers.\nThis position will be open for a minimum of 5 days, with applications accepted on an ongoing basis until the position is filled.\nMicrosoft is an equal opportunity employer. All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to age, ancestry, citizenship, color, family or medical care leave, gender identity or expression, genetic information, immigration status, marital status, medical condition, national origin, physical or mental disability, political affiliation, protected veteran or military status, race, ethnicity, religion, sex (including pregnancy), sexual orientation, or any other characteristic protected by applicable local laws, regulations and ordinances.
