Each day we build on our values of respect, integrity, and accountability to create a culture of inclusion where everyone can thrive at work and beyond.\nIn alignment with our Microsoft values, we are committed to cultivating an inclusive work environment for all employees to positively impact our culture every day.\nResponsibilities\nAs a Principal Security Research Manager, you will:\nWork with security specialists and threat hunters to translate strategic security priorities into intelligence requirements.\nManage a team of intelligence analysts\nHelp oversee threat intelligence production workflows and create new standards and processes to ensure threat focused teams meet security objectives and core priorities.\nStep in to write, review, and/or edit finished intelligence products to provide customers with the information needed to combat the latest threats\nFocus on delivering new threat intelligence value to start protecting customers early, and an iterative approach for incremental improvements thereafter.\nStrengthen existing partnerships and build new ones with key organizations benefiting Microsoft and its customers.\nBe proactive in getting buy-in for your ideas both within the Microsoft Threat Intelligence Center and from key engineering groups across Microsoft, working in partnership to protect Microsoft and our customers through improved product and service offerings.\nEmbody our Culture and Values \nQualifications\nRequired/minimum qualifications:\nDoctorate in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Computer Security, or related field AND 3+ years experience in software development lifecycle, large-scale computing, threat analysis or modeling, cybersecurity, vulnerability research, and/or anomaly detection OR Master's Degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Computer Security, or related field AND 4+ years experience in software development lifecycle, large-scale computing, threat analysis or modeling, cybersecurity, vulnerability research, and/or anomaly detection OR Bachelor's Degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Computer Security, or related field AND 6+ years experience in software development lifecycle, large-scale computing, threat analysis or modeling, cybersecurity, vulnerability research, and/or anomaly detection OR equivalent experience.\n1+ year(s) people management experience.\n\nOther Requirements:\n - Citizenship & Citizenship Verification:\n\nThis position requires verification of citizenship due to citizenship-based legal restrictions. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:\nMicrosoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft background and Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.\nAdditional or preferred qualifications\n7+ years experience in software development lifecycle, large-scale computing, modeling, cybersecurity, and/or anomaly detection.•OR Doctorate in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science or related field.\n\n3+ years people management experience.\n4+ years experience in the security domain, to include both detailed understanding of attacker techniques, lates vulnerabilities, and tracking the threat actors behind specific campaigns.\n2+ years experience creating finished intelligence, including conference briefings, internal/external reporting.\nKnowledge of the Diamond Model (Adversary, Infrastructure, Capability, and Victim) and how those features interact during adversary operations - particularly how to pivot through the Diamond to uncover new intelligence.\nProven ability to relate technical research advances and insights to business impact.\nExpertise in managing customer escalations and complex work streams with quick turnaround deliverables. \n#GHOST #MSTIC #SPEAR #CISO\nSecurity Research M5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $142,800 - $274,800 per year.
