Web IQ provides AI-native APIs that enable applications and agents to discover, retrieve, and use web intelligence. Making these capabilities easy to discover, evaluate, integrate, and operate is critical to customer adoption.\nWe are looking for a Principal Technical Program Manager (TPM) to drive end-to-end execution of the Web IQ developer experience and customer platform programs in partnership with the AI Search Platform (AISP) engineering team. This role sits at the intersection of product, engineering, Azure, customer experience, and business stakeholders, turning priorities into a coherent backlog, actionable delivery plans, and predictable outcomes.\nYou will be an execution leader across organizational boundaries: aligning stakeholders on scope and sequencing, driving technical dependencies to closure, anticipating risks, and providing transparent status. The ideal candidate combines solid technical judgment with the ability to bring structure to ambiguity, influence without authority, and improve the experience from developer discovery through first API call to production-scale use.\nMicrosoft’s mission is to empower every person and every organization on the planet to achieve more. As employees we come together with a growth mindset, innovate to empower others, and collaborate to realize our shared goals. Each day we build on our values of respect, integrity, and accountability to create a culture of inclusion where everyone can thrive at work and beyond.\nStarting January 26, 2026, Microsoft AI (MAI) employees who live within a 50- mile commute of a designated Microsoft office in the U.S. or 25-mile commute of a non-U.S., country-specific location are expected to work from the office at least four days per week. This expectation is subject to local law and may vary by jurisdiction.\nResponsibilities\nProgram leadership and execution Own integrated planning and execution for Web IQ developer experience programs; translate product and customer priorities into a prioritized engineering backlog, milestones, owners, dependencies, and measurable exit criteria. \nEstablish an operating rhythm for planning, delivery reviews, issue triage, launch readiness, and executive reporting; drive decisions and escalation when tradeoffs arise. \nCoordinate across AISP engineering, Web IQ product, Azure, partner integrations, customer support, and go-to-market teams to deliver against shared commitments. \n\nDeveloper onboarding and platform experience Drive delivery of a streamlined end-to-end developer journey across Web IQ portal and Azure: discovery, eligibility, resource provisioning, authentication, API key and access management, playground, first call, and production onboarding. \nLead execution of developer-facing capabilities such as documentation, SDKs, code samples, API references, integration guides, troubleshooting, and self-service support experiences. \nCoordinate customer-management workflows, including accounts, permissions, quotas, usage visibility, and support handoffs, with attention to secure and reliable operation. \n\nCommercial platform and ecosystem integrations Coordinate engineering programs spanning Azure integration, billing and metering, usage data, customer activation, and operational readiness; ensure end-to-end validation across dependent systems. \nDrive cross-team execution for partner and ecosystem connection opportunities, such as Microsoft Foundry and potential third-party channels or cloud platforms, as priorities are approved. \nPartner with engineering on technical design reviews, API and system contracts, release sequencing, migrations, and risk mitigation without substituting for engineering ownership of architecture. \n\nMeasurement, quality, and stakeholder alignment Define and maintain program health and developer-experience scorecards, including time to first successful call, onboarding completion and drop-off, activation, service issues, and delivery predictability. \nUse customer feedback, support signals, telemetry, and operational data to identify friction and drive corrective actions. \nCommunicate crisp, decision-oriented updates to technical and senior leadership audiences, clearly separating committed scope, risks, open decisions, and next steps. \n\nQualifications\nRequired Qualifications:\nBachelor's Degree AND 6+ years experience in engineering, product/technical program management, data analysis, or product developmentOR equivalent experience.\n\n3+ years of experience managing cross-functional and/or cross-team projects.\nPreferred Qualifications:\nBachelor's Degree AND 12+ years experience engineering, product/technical program management, data analysis, or product developmentOR equivalent experience.\n\n4+ years leading complex, cross-functional technical programs with ambiguous requirements, competing priorities, and multiple engineering dependencies. \nExperience delivering cloud services or cloud infrastructure, developer platforms, APIs, or distributed systems, with the ability to engage deeply on architecture, integration, reliability, and operational tradeoffs. \nDemonstrated ability to influence without direct authority, manage execution risk, and communicate effectively with engineers, product leaders, and executives. \n8+ years driving large-scale, multi-team programs from planning through launch and sustained operation. \nExperience with developer portals, API onboarding, identity/authentication, Azure resource provisioning, usage metering, billing, or cloud marketplace integrations. \nExperience with SDKs, documentation and samples, developer tooling, telemetry, customer activation funnels, or API lifecycle management. \nFamiliarity with AI agents, search, information retrieval, and grounding services; ability to review technical designs and make informed tradeoffs. \nTechnical Program Management IC5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $142,800 - $274,800 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $188,000 - $304,200 per year.\nCertain roles may be eligible for benefits and other compensation.
