Each day we build on our values of respect, integrity, and accountability to create a culture of inclusion where everyone can thrive at work and beyond.\nResponsibilities\nWork on the architecture, design and development of the core compute services powering AzureML to tackle challenging AI problems using state-of-the-art LLM models such as GPT5 and OSS models.\nWork on the architecture, design, and development of the core AI Infrastructure services that support large scale AI training and inferencing.\nDevelop, test, and maintain backend services written in C#, Go, Rust, C++, hosted on Kubernetes clusters and Docker containers.\nDevelop and operate training/inference infra framework and machine learning systems.\nEnhance systems and applications to ensure high stability, efficiency, & maintainability, low latency, tight cloud security.\nProvide operational support and DRI responsibilities for the product.\nCollaborate closely with engineers, data scientists within the team, internal Microsoft Research teams and external enterprises to build better solutions together.\nProvide vision, expertise, and technical leadership to other team members.\nQualifications\nRequired Qualifications:\nBachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 4+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python\n\nOR equivalent experience.\n\nPreferred/Additional Qualifications:\nMaster's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 8+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python OR Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 12+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python OR equivalent experience.\n\nKnowledge and first-hand experience with large model training system.\n3+ years of experience operating and design system which suppot the large model training.\nExperience in distributed systems and architecture.\nAI infrastructure and workload knowledge.\nOther Requirements:\nAbility to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.\nSoftware Engineering IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $119,800 - $234,700 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $160,200 - $261,000 per year.\nCertain roles may be eligible for benefits and other compensation.
