Each day we build on our values of respect, integrity, and accountability to create a culture of inclusion where everyone can thrive at work and beyond.\nThe role of the Senior Network Sourcing Manager will focus on the following key areas:\nDefine and establish Microsoft’s Network Sourcing strategy for datacenter switching technologies to drive competitive advantages for Microsoft cloud offerings.\n\nEarly engagement with our suppliers, network architecture and engineering teams to identify optimization opportunities and drive product solutions around design for availability and TCO.\n\nEstablish appropriate sourcing strategy with relevant partners to drive long-term goals of Technology Adoption, COS (Continuity of Supply), Cost, Quality, Business Health, and Sustainability.\n\nProvide thought leadership and manage strategic initiatives with internal stakeholders and suppliers to support cloud supply chain objectives and strategies.\n\n#CSCP #CSCPJobs #CSCPHiringNow\nResponsibilities\nSourcing management\nEngage with cross- functional leadership including Network architecture, engineering, quality, and business teams to determine best design solution and supply base to deliver that solution at optimal Supply chain, Continuity of supply, and cost.\nOwn the switch sourcing process, partnering with product engineering teams on high visibility technology developments and delivery of innovative solutions. \nProvide sourcing engineering expertise on datacenter switching platforms, evaluating switch architectures, merchant silicon ecosystems, optics technologies, supplier capabilities, and technology roadmaps.\nLead industry initiatives and innovate on business models to deliver best in cloud solutions. \nDefine RFQ / RFP activities and conduct negotiations with suppliers. \nManage contracting activities with Legal and ensure contracts reflect appropriate business terms, IP protection, etc. \nCost and operations management\nBuild multi-sourcing strategies to mitigate risk and drive appropriate competition. \nIdentify cost reduction opportunities and drive supplier competition with cost modelling and other sourcing tools. \nManage NPI (New Product Introduction) development builds until mature enough to transition to sustaining sourcing team. \nSupport programs through the development phases to ensure continued optimization, parts availability, and contract readiness. \nRun weekly, monthly, quarter review with team on cost and operations KPIs. \nManage supplier performance and compliance\nCreate and deliver supplier relationship management strategy. \nDrive RFQs and supplier selection process through a cross-functional analysis around supplier capabilities. \nDevelop and enable the introduction of new suppliers. \nOversee compliance with MSFT requirements for security, social responsibility, and payment terms. \nEnsure suppliers deliver timely corrective actions from business review / audits. \nSupport and meet business cost metrics through the development process.\nQualifications\nMinimum Qualifications:\nMaster's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Materials Science, or related field AND 3+ years experience in procurement, supply chain, sourcing, engineering, operations, or relevant sales-related rolesOR Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Materials Science, or related field AND 4+ years experience in procurement, supply chain, sourcing, engineering, operations, or relevant sales-related roles\nOR equivalent experience. \n\nOther Requirements:\nAbility to meet Microsoft’s standards for security screening, including passing Microsoft Cloud background checks biennially.\nPreferred Qualifications:\nMaster's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Materials Science, or related field AND 6+ years experience in procurement, supply chain, sourcing, engineering, operations, or relevant sales-related rolesOR Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Materials Science, or related field AND 8+ years experience in procurement, supply chain, sourcing, engineering, operations, or relevant sales-related roles\nOR equivalent experience. \n\n5+ years of experience in networking product development, validation, component engineering, field applications engineering, sourcing engineering, or related roles.\nExperience with networking hardware development, manufacturing, qualification, or validation.\nExperience applying automated testing, data analysis, and continuous improvement practices.\nExpertise in datacenter switching hardware and network component engineering.\nAdvanced knowledge in networking hardware development, qualification, and validation.\nStrong influencing and storytelling capabilities to build and maintain crucial stakeholder relationships.\nExceptional analytical skills with experience applying data analysis and continuous improvement practices.\nSourcing Engineering IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $119,800 - $234,700 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $160,200 - $261,000 per year.\nCertain roles may be eligible for benefits and other compensation.
