We are looking for engineers with a dedicated passion for customer focused solutions, insight and industry knowledge to envision and implement future technical solutions that will manage and optimize the Cloud infrastructure.\nWe are looking for a Senior Performance Verification Engineer - SoC to join the team.\nResponsibilities\nEstablish yourself as an integral member of a pre-silicon SoC verification team, owning aspects of performance verification, and aligning with architecture, design, firmware, and emulation.\nBecome knowledgeable on the overall SoC architecture, including tradeoffs that effect power and performance.\nDevelop verification strategy, test plans, requirements, environments, tools, and methodologies.\nApply your knowledge of performance verification principles and techniques and your judgement to write test plans and implement them by developing tests, test generators, test benches, checkers, coverage, and other verification collateral.\nRun tests, correlate results with architecture, debug failures to root cause, recommend fixes.\nApply your growth mindset to learn and adapt in a complex and dynamic environment.\nEngage with partners to drive continuous improvement to the architecture, design, and verification plans/collateral, and to methodology to prevent, reduce, and/or find bugs sooner, more easily, or more reliably.\nMentor and coach team members \nApply your One Microsoft mentality to collaborate with and influence architects, logic designers, post-silicon validators, other verification engineers, and IP and tool providers.\nEmbody our culture and values.\nQualifications\nRequired Qualifications:\nDoctorate in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field AND 1+ year(s) technical engineering experienceOR Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field AND 4+ years technical engineering experience\nOR Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field AND 5+ years technical engineering experience\nOR equivalent experience.\n\nOther Requirements:\nAbility to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.\nThis role will require access to information that is controlled for export under export control regulations, potentially under the U.S. International Traffic in Arms Regulations or Export Administration Regulations, the EU Dual Use Regulation, and/or other export control regulations. As a condition of employment, the successful candidate will be required to provide either proof of their country of citizenship or proof of their US. residency or other protected status (e.g., under 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3)) for assessment of eligibility to access the export-controlled information. Lawful permanent residents, refugees, and asylees may verify status using other documents, where applicable.\nPreferred Qualifications:\nBS/MS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science or related degree.\nPerformance verification experience through at least one end-to-end tapeout.\n6+ years of experience working on Computer Architecture and SoC design and verification principles, including using industry standard HDLs like System Verilog/UVM.\nExperience developing tests targeting emulation platforms, including C/C++ and accelerated VIP content.\nProficient communication, collaboration and teamwork skills and ability to contribute to diverse and inclusive teams.\nDemonstrated expertise in one or more of the following:CPU architecture, protocols, and related firmware\nCoherent and non-coherent fabric IPs and protocols\nARM standard architectures and protocols\n\nSilicon Engineering IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $119,800 - $234,700 per year.
