We want an environment where people understand and respect one another, bring their unique perspectives to hard problems, debate the right path forward with curiosity and conviction, and do the best work of their careers together.\nAbout the role\nWe’re looking for a Senior Product Manager, Excel Copilot to shape how Excel takes advantage of the rapid evolution of foundation models and agentic AI to make Excel Copilot the best-in-class tool for working with data as part of our Models and Signals team, driving constant improvement in response to customer signal and model enhancements.\nYou’ll work at the intersection of customers, product, engineering, applied science, and design, deeply understanding the jobs people rely on Excel to accomplish and translating those needs into product and technical choices. Your goal is deceptively simple: help us hill-climb toward an intelligent Excel experience that gives every customer the right capabilities for the task they’re trying to accomplish.\nThis isn't primarily a coordination role. Each day we build on our values of respect, integrity, and accountability to create a culture of inclusion where everyone can thrive at work and beyond.\nResponsibilities\nIdentify customer needs and product opportunities through customer engagement, telemetry, experimentation, research, competitive insights, and other relevant data.\nEvaluate AI capabilities, including foundation models and agentic systems, and translate applicable capabilities into product experiences that address customer needs.\nPartner with Engineering, Applied Science, Design, and other cross-functional teams to define product requirements, hypotheses, success criteria, and measurable outcomes.\nUse experimentation, evaluations, telemetry, and customer feedback to measure product performance, identify opportunities for improvement, and inform product decisions.\nDrive near-term product improvements while contributing to longer-term product strategy and vision for Excel.\nAssess product and technical tradeoffs in ambiguous or rapidly evolving areas and establish priorities based on customer needs, data, technical considerations, and business objectives.\nDefine and monitor product metrics and use data and customer insights to inform prioritization and product investments.\nCommunicate product priorities, decisions, and recommendations clearly across cross-functional teams and stakeholders.\nCollaborate effectively across disciplines and contribute learnings, product practices, and insights that support the broader team.\nQualifications\nRequired Qualifications:\nBachelor's Degree AND 5+ years experience in product management including driving products from strategy through delivery and using qualitative and quantitative data to inform product decisionsOR equivalent experience,\n\nOther Requirements:\nAbility to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:\nMicrosoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.\nPreferred Qualifications:\nExperience building AI-powered products, agentic experiences, or products that incorporate foundation models. \nExperience working closely with engineering and applied science teams on technically complex products. \nExperience with experimentation, evaluation, telemetry, or other systems for measuring and improving AI or product quality. \nExperience delivering products at scale for a broad and diverse customer base.\n#OPG #OPGHiring\nProduct Management IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $119,800 - $234,700 per year.
