These requirements include but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:\nMicrosoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.\nPreferred Qualifications:\nMaster's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 6+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or PythonOR Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 8+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python\nOR equivalent experience. \n\nSolid experience designing, building, and operating distributed systems, cloud services, or large-scale backend platforms.\nSolid technical depth in service architecture, reliability, debugging, performance, security, and operational excellence.\nExperience applying AI, machine learning, LLMs, agents, or AI-assisted automation to solve engineering or operational problems. Deep ML research expertise is not required.\nDemonstrated ability to use AI effectively in everyday engineering workflows, such as software development, debugging, troubleshooting, data analysis, incident investigation, or automation.\nAbility to reason across complex signals, telemetry, logs, dependencies, and operational context to diagnose problems and design scalable solutions.\nProven ability to lead ambiguous technical work from problem framing through architecture, implementation, deployment, evaluation, and production operation.\nSolid cross-team collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to influence technical direction and explain complex concepts clearly to engineering, product, and leadership stakeholders.\nA growth mindset toward AI transformation, with the ability to identify where AI can fundamentally improve existing engineering and operational processes rather than simply automate individual tasks.\nThis position will be open for a minimum of 5 days, with applications accepted on an ongoing basis until the position is filled.\nMicrosoft is an equal opportunity employer.
