Each day we build on our values of respect, integrity, and accountability to create a culture of inclusion where everyone can thrive at work and beyond.\nResponsibilities\nGuide the team in using telemetry, experimentation, and trace analysis to understand software and hardware behavior, identify opportunities, and measure impact at scale.\nLead complex, cross-stack investigations involving low-level debugging, performance analysis, reliability, and power optimization.\nOwn the team's technical roadmap for Windows Fundamentals improvements, contribute to architecture, and align priorities with customer and business needs.\nManage the design and delivery of well-defined solutions spanning hardware, firmware, operating-system, service, and application layers.\nMaintain a high engineering bar for quality, security, reliability, performance, maintainability, and operational excellence while driving predictable execution.\nUse data and customer insights to evaluate tradeoffs, manage risk, prioritize the team's work, and deliver measurable outcomes.\nHire, coach, and retain a diverse team of engineers while collaborating with Windows teams, OEMs, silicon vendors, and hardware partners across the ecosystem.\nTechnologies\nThe team works with technologies including:\nC, C++, C#, Python, scripting and automation tools\nWinDbg, Windows Performance Analyzer, and ETW tracing\nCosmos, Kusto, Asimov, and Azure-based trace-processing systems\nPower BI, statistics, and large-scale telemetry analysis\nMachine learning and AI models\nQualifications\nRequired Qualifications:\nBachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 10+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or PythonOR equivalent experience. \n\n2+ years of people-management experience leading software engineers, including coaching, performance management, and career development.\nExperience leading the design, development, and optimization of complex system software or platform capabilities.\nDemonstrated success leading a team and delivering reliable products or services at scale.\nSolid technical judgment in software architecture, systems design, debugging, and engineering tradeoffs.\nAbility to navigate ambiguity, prioritize work using data, and influence technical and product decisions across teams.\nExperience managing a team responsible for operating-system architecture, system-level development, or platform engineering.\nSolid knowledge of Windows internals, performance, reliability, or power optimization.\nExperience coordinating initiatives across hardware, firmware, operating-system, service, and application boundaries.\nExperience using large-scale telemetry, experimentation, statistical analysis, or Azure data platforms to guide engineering decisions.\nTrack record of contributing to architecture and product direction while collaborating with multiple teams and senior stakeholders.\n#WDJOBS, #WSSIJOBS\nOther Requirements:\n Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role.
