As an engineer on the team, you’ll spend most of your time writing code, contributing improvements in different dimensions of the service value proposition: core search, manageability, scale, availability, performance, developer experience.\nResponsibilities\nResponsibilities:\nDesign, implement, test, and deliver backend capabilities that enable new search and AI retrieval workloads in Azure, taking ownership from technical design through production deployment and operation.\nImprove product and service quality through hands-on DevOps engagement, including monitoring, diagnostics, incident response, root-cause analysis, automation, and live-site tooling.\nEngage with customers to better understand scenarios and resolve issues\nDevelop expertise in Azure provisioning and service management \nQualifications\nRequired Qualifications\nStrong problem-solving, troubleshooting and communication skills.\nGood understanding of systems fundamentals, including operating systems, networking, concurrency, storage, algorithms and data structures, cloud platforms, and distributed systems.\nOpenness to feedback and effectiveness at collaborating with diverse groups of people.\nDemonstrated independence, bias for action, and tolerance for ambiguity.\n3+ years of professional software engineering experience designing, developing, testing, and operating production software. \nExperience developing production software in C#, C++, Java, or another object-oriented programming language; experience with scripting, automation, or SQL is an advantage.\nBuilding and shipping production grade cloud services, including designing and implementing solutions for telemetry and monitoring.\nBachelor’s degree in computer science or engineering (or equivalent experience).\nPreferred Qualifications\nExperience with Lucene, Elasticsearch, Open Search and the full ELK stack is a plus\nExperience building systems on top of with one of the large cloud platforms is a plus\nExperience coordinating resources across diverse teams to restore service and maintain SLA’s\nAbility to conceptualize a distributed service, it’s dependencies and the transactional flow when troubleshooting across network, application, caching, queuing, load-balancing, storage and distributed services layers.\nHigh enthusiasm, integrity, ingenuity, results-orientation, self-motivation, and resourcefulness in a fast-paced environment. \nDeep desire to work collaboratively, find win/win solutions and celebrate successes \nAlways leading with deep passion and empathy for customers and co-workers.\n#AIKnowldege #AISearch #CoreAI\nThis position will be open for a minimum of 5 days, with applications accepted on an ongoing basis until the position is filled.\nMicrosoft is an equal opportunity employer.
