Each day we build on our values of respect, integrity, and accountability to create a culture of inclusion where everyone can thrive at work and beyond.\nResponsibilities\nOwn the end-to-end delivery of Microsoft Purview features and services, driving execution from strategy and design through development, deployment, and customer adoption.\nLead and grow a team of software engineers by providing coaching, career development, performance guidance, and fostering an inclusive engineering culture.\nDrive service reliability, availability, and operational excellence through incident management, post-incident reviews (PIRs), on-call readiness, and continuous service improvements.\nPartner with product management, security, compliance, and platform teams to define roadmaps, prioritize investments, and deliver customer and business outcomes.\nChampion security-first engineering practices, ensuring adherence to Secure Future Initiative (SFI), compliance requirements, privacy standards, and vulnerability remediation goals.\nEstablish engineering processes, quality standards, and metrics aligned with New Production Function (leveraging Agents across SDLC)\nLead cross-functional collaboration across Microsoft Security, M365, Entra, and platform teams to deliver integrated Purview experiences.\nDrive technical architecture and design reviews, balancing scalability, reliability, performance, and cost considerations.\nManage operational priorities, technical debt reduction, and long-term platform modernization efforts.\nCommunicate engineering status, risks, dependencies, and strategic recommendations to senior leadership and stakeholders.\nSponsor customer-focused innovation by leveraging telemetry, feedback, and data-driven insights to improve Purview products and services.\nEnsure teams maintain strong ownership of compliance, governance, RBAC, data protection, and enterprise security requirements across Purview workloads.\nEmbody our culture and values\nQualifications\nQualifications - Required:\nBachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 8+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python OR equivalent experience.\nQualifications - Other Requirements:\nAbility to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $220,800 - $331,200 per year.\nCertain roles may be eligible for benefits and other compensation.
