Snow Bowl Guest Services (S01436)

This is considered a part-time, hourly, non-benefits eligible position. The minimum starting rate for the position is $ 17.45 per hour, with an increased wage for each returning ski season. Some hours are eligible for shift differential for nights and weekends.

The Guest Services team provides welcoming, knowledgeable, and professional service to guests of the Middlebury Snowbowl. This position serves as a primary point of contact for guests and supports daily operations through lift ticket and season pass sales, retail and rental checkout, webstore assistance, and general guest support.

Guest Services team members are expected to develop a strong understanding of Snowbowl products, programs, policies, and online purchasing processes in order to help guests navigate their experience from purchase through arrival at the mountain.

Core Responsibilities:

• Provide friendly, professional, and efficient customer service to all Snowbowl guests.
• Sell and process daily lift tickets, season passes, programs, rentals, retail merchandise, and other Ski Area products using point-of-sale systems.
• Develop a thorough understanding of the Ski Area webstore, including the online purchasing process, available products, account setup, waivers, and fulfillment, in order to assist guests with questions and troubleshoot common issues.
• Assist guests with season pass purchases, pass pickup, account questions, and other pass-related needs.
• Process retail and rental transactions accurately, including payments, refunds, discounts, and other approved transactions in accordance with established procedures.
• Maintain a working knowledge of Snowbowl products, pricing, promotions, programs, operating hours, mountain conditions, and policies in order to provide accurate information to guests.
• Answer guest questions in person, by phone or chat, and through other designated communication channels, directing guests to the appropriate department when necessary.
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisors to support the mission and operations of the Middlebury College Ski Areas.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Ski area knowledge, customer service, retail, hospitality, recreation, or ski industry experience preferred, but not required.
• Comfortable working with computers, point-of-sale systems, web-based applications, and online purchasing platforms with strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to learn Ski Area products, pricing, policies, and technology and clearly explain them to guests.
• Positive attitude with ability to remain friendly, patient, and professional in a busy customer-service environment.
• Must be dependable and willing to work weekends, holidays, and evenings during the ski season.
• Basic First Aid knowledge is beneficial.

Physical Demands & Working Conditions:

This position primarily works indoors in often a fast-paced environment with occasional outdoor duties. The position requires extended periods of standing and frequent interaction with guests. Must be able to lift approximately 20-30 pounds regularly and up to 50 pounds occasionally. Work schedules may include weekends, holidays, evenings, and periods of high guest volume.
