The role reports to the Director of Protocol Operations and works closely with internal engineering teams and BCW, progressively taking ownership of day-to-day infrastructure operations.\nKeeps critical blockchain infrastructure available and performant, targeting 99.99% uptime\nManages and automates validator operations across multi-cloud and bare-metal environments\nHelps guide the transition from a federated to a fully decentralised validator network\nBuild and configure dev, test and mainnet environments for blockchain and development partners\nBuild best in class Telemetry tooling and ETL dashboards to support remote monitoring\nThis is a very hands-on role with focus on ability to build solutions and work under own initiative\nCore Responsibilities\nProtocol Reliability & Incident Response\nEnsure 99.99% uptime of critical blockchain infrastructure and implement reliability improvements\nParticipate in the on-call rota, mitigating and resolving production incidents and writing blameless post-mortems\nTroubleshoot testing and deployment issues, resolving protocol-level bottlenecks ahead of mainnet upgrades\nValidator Operations & Decentralisation\nManage, maintain, and automate Midnight validator nodes for performance, reliability, and scale\nDevelop and maintain open-source tools for Midnight infrastructure across multi-cloud and bare-metal\nSupport the transition from a foundation-coordinated federated validator model to a fully decentralised network\nOptimization of the roll out templates for FNO’s and future Stake Pool Operators\nReview and recommend feedback and monthly reports on FNO and internal teams\nSecurity, Performance & Delivery\nStrengthen security posture by identifying vulnerabilities and improving security controls\nIdentify bottlenecks and implement solutions to optimise infrastructure and validator performance\nBuild and maintain secure deployment pipelines using GitHub Actions and other CI/CD tools\nInfrastructure Ownership & Collaboration\nProgressively own day-to-day infrastructure management, coordinating closely with BCW and internal teams\nShare technical feedback and recommendations, and proactively drive automation and improvements\nRequirements\nRecommended Experience & Qualifications\n3+ years of hands-on DevOps, SRE, or infrastructure engineering, including at least 1 year with blockchain infrastructure\nPractical experience managing blockchain nodes or validator infrastructure\nStrong Linux administration skills and working knowledge of containers and Kubernetes\nProficiency with Grafana, Prometheus, or similar observability tools\nStrong shell scripting, with knowledge of Rust, Go, or Python\nExperience configuring, scaling, and optimising cloud infrastructure, ideally on AWS and Google Cloud\nExperience of using infrastructure as code (IAC) using TerraForm and/or OpenTofu\nExperience with CI/CD tools such as GitHub Actions or Jenkins\nStrong grasp of infrastructure security principles and practical improvements\nClear communication and documentation, including infrastructure designs and recommendations for internal and external teams\nRemote from an eligible location in Asia, Europe, or LATAM, with 1-2 hours of daily US or EU overlap, a flexible schedule (Sunday-Thursday or Tuesday-Saturday), and on-call participation\nBonus: GitOps and Nix;
