You’ll own significant Android features end-to-end, shape a scalable architecture, and stay hands-on with Kotlin and Jetpack Compose. Working closely with Product, Design, and Engineering, you’ll turn customer problems into reliable, polished releases, mentor other engineers, and raise the quality of the wider Android platform.\nYou will:\nLead the design, development, and release of significant customer-facing Android features within the Core team\n\nOwn technical work end-to-end: clarify the problem, shape the approach, manage trade-offs, ship safely, and learn from outcomes\n\nSet and evolve Android architecture, modularisation, and engineering practices as the product scales\n\nBuild hands-on with Kotlin and Jetpack Compose, producing maintainable, well-tested code\n\nDrive performance, reliability, accessibility, and a polished customer experience\n\nLead code reviews and raise standards for testing, observability, and release quality\n\nMentor and support other engineers, sharing context and Android expertise across the team\n\nInfluence product and technical decisions with Product, Design, Backend, Web, iOS, and the wider Android discipline\n\nWhat you’ll bring:\n5+ years of commercial native Android development, with evidence of growing scope and responsibility\n\nA strong record of shipping and supporting production Android apps on Google Play\n\nDeep Kotlin expertise and substantial hands-on Jetpack Compose experience\n\nExperience designing and evolving Android architecture, including clear separation of concerns and modularisation; able to explain trade-offs\n\nStrong knowledge of Coroutines, Flows, lifecycle-aware work, testing, and Android-specific edge cases\n\nExperience improving app performance, stability, and production quality\n\nA thoughtful testing approach using unit and Android UI testing (for example JUnit, Espresso, or Compose Testing)\n\nExperience with APIs, networking, data persistence, and dependency injection; Koin is useful\n\nAbility to lead significant features from discovery through delivery and assess their outcomes\n\nEvidence of mentoring engineers, improving code quality, and influencing technical decisions\n\nStrong product judgement and a focus on customer experience\n\nClear communication and effective collaboration in a fast-moving cross-functional team\n\nWinnings\nPrivate health insurance with zero excess, including optical cover and optional dental.\n\nIncome protection to protect your earnings and give you peace of mind.\n\nTenure holiday policy.
