So, if you’re looking to do big work in a small-team environment, Midrex is just the place for you.\nQualifications\nThe Junior Buyer / Expeditor provides purchasing and expediting support for industrial machinery and materials for domestic and international projects. Duties frequently require negotiation to achieve results.\nSupervisory Responsibilities:\nNone\nDuties/Responsibilities:\nReview requisitions for completeness, issue inquiries to qualified vendors, and coordinate technical reviews\nAnalyze vendor quotations for compliance with requisition requirements. Develop relationships with vendors to obtain favorable delivery, schedule, price, and commercial terms and conditions\nPlace purchase orders for technical items and large volume commodity items in coordination with project schedules utilizing current ERP and MRP systems.\nProvide frequent, timely and results-oriented vendor expediting to verify and influence manufacturing schedules, shipping schedules or drawing/document submittal schedules.\nUtilize the ERP System as it relates to the Project Procurement Department's expediting functions (i.e. update all salient schedule milestones for material acquisition, manufacturing progress, shipping schedule/actual, etc.).\nUtilize the file sharing and MRP System in all aspects as they relate to the Project Procurement Department's expediting functions.\nMonthly maintenance of the Estimate to Complete (ETC) Spread Sheet for multiple projects that lists anticipated vendor billings and anticipated revenues from clients.\nLiaise with either/both Midrex Global Logistics and the clients' designated freight forwarders to effect shipments.\nEstablish and keep current the individual Purchase Order files within the ERP System regarding expediting matters.\nAttend the weekly shipping meetings and utilize the information gained to update the ETC's per project.\nEstablish lines of contact with Midrex site management to ensure that all field purchase orders are accurate \nSkills/Abilities:\nRequired:\nStrong communication skills, both written and verbal\nAbility to learn and take on new responsibility \nOrganized with attention to detail\nProficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software \nAbility to build relationships with all levels of suppliers' staff and Company teammates\nPreferred:\nExperience in an industrial work environment or internship\nWorking knowledge of ISO related requirements \nProficient with a typical ERP system\nProficient with a typical MRP document control systems\nEducation and Experience:\nHigh school diploma, post-high school or Bachelor of Science / Bachelor of Arts Degree preferred in Engineering or Business Administration\nTravel Requirements:\n0% - 10% International and Domestic based on project demands \nPhysical Requirements:\nProlonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.\nAbility to move around a project site, including climbing structures.\nOther Duties:\nPlease note this job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job.
