You will play a key role in developing this platform and expanding it for an increasingly AI-driven way of working. You will design and build scalable data solutions, integrate new data sources and take ownership of key areas of our platform architecture and engineering standards.\nAI engineering will be a core part of your role. You will shape the architecture of our agent platform, further develop AI agents and solutions, and lead the adoption of AI-native practices across our data processes. This includes designing how agents interact with data, tools and systems, as well as introducing agentic development practices that change how we build, operate and improve our data platform.\nYou will work closely with Data Analysts, Engineers and business stakeholders to translate data, AI and automation needs into robust technical solutions. As a senior member of the team, you will lead discussions and decisions around technical topics, establish engineering standards and drive continuous improvement in the way we build.\nYOUR DAY-TO-DAY JOB\nOwn and evolve our data platform: Take ownership of key areas of the platform architecture, deliver ELT pipelines and data models, and integrate internal and external data sources through APIs and other interfaces.\nShape our AI and agent capabilities: Drive the technical direction of our agent platform, build AI agents and lead the adoption of AI-native practices across data engineering and data processes.\nBuild applications and automations: Develop and maintain business-relevant applications and define the technical architecture for custom automation workflows.\nTurn business needs into solutions: Work closely with Data Analysts and business stakeholders to translate data, AI and automation needs into pragmatic technical solutions.\nDrive engineering standards: Define technical standards and best practices, lead architectural decisions and continuously improve the quality and maintainability of our solutions.\nLead and enable others: Train and guide more junior team members, provide technical support and share knowledge across the team.\nBring innovation into practice: Stay at the forefront of developments in data engineering, AI and software development and turn relevant developments into practical improvements to our platform and ways of working.\nWE ARE LOOKING FOR\n\n5+ years of experience in data engineering, software engineering or a comparable technical role, with experience taking ownership of complex technical solutions.\nStrong hands-on proficiency in SQL and Python, with the ability to design, review and improve production-grade code.\nStrong knowledge of data warehousing and data modelling, including designing scalable data structures and transformation processes.\nExperience designing and delivering ELT pipelines and data integrations, including integrations with APIs and external data sources.\nHands-on experience with coding agents and AI-assisted development, combined with a strong ambition to apply and expand these capabilities across data engineering.\nExperience taking ownership of technical architecture and engineering standards, and the ability to lead and communicate pragmatic technical decisions.\nExperience working directly with Analysts and business stakeholders to translate requirements into technical solutions.\nThe ability and willingness to guide other engineers, review their work and share technical knowledge.\nA strong drive to develop further in AI engineering, experiment with emerging technologies and turn relevant developments into production-ready solutions.\nExperience with Azure, Databricks, dbt and dltHub is a plus. These technologies form the core of our current data engineering stack. Experience building AI agents, agent platforms or AI-enabled applications is highly valued.
