We have strong expertise in GPS/geolocation, Google Maps, payment systems, social media integration, navigation, 3rd-party APIs, as well as AR/VR/MR applications for mobile devices, smart glasses, and headsets.\nWe are looking for a Senior Python Engineer with strong backend, architecture assessment, and application security expertise to assess an existing microservices platform built with Python and FastAPI.\n\nThe project involves reviewing the codebase, establishing a security baseline, assessing the platform's readiness for further development, and preparing technical reports, effort estimates, and a prioritised roadmap. The engagement is expected to last approximately 8–9 weeks, with a possibility of extension.\nKey Responsibilities:\n\n- Assess an existing Python codebase across multiple repositories and identify technical risks;\n\n- Verify how the published source code compares with the Docker images currently in use;\n\n- Assess application security and establish a security baseline;\n\n- Evaluate the platform's microservices architecture, including event-driven communication and data storage;\n\n- Estimate the effort required to maintain and extend the platform;\n\n- Prepare technical reports and a prioritised roadmap with recommendations;\n\n- Collaborate with a DevOps engineer throughout the assessment.\nAbout you:\n\n- 6+ years of Python, including production FastAPI, SQLAlchemy/Alembic and gRPC;\n\n- Strong application-security background: deserialisation, code injection, JWT/OIDC (Keycloak a plus), CORS;\n\n- Comfortable with Docker/OCI internals: image layers, registries, inspecting images without running them;\n\n- Has designed or assessed event-driven microservices (Kafka) with polyglot storage (Postgres, MongoDB, Elasticsearch, Redis, S3-compatible storage);\n\n- Has assessed an unfamiliar codebase across many repositories and turned the findings into effort estimates;\n\n- Clear technical writing that also reaches non-technical readers.
