M/I Homes started as a family business and grew into a national leader in a single generation with divisions in 17 markets, including Austin, Charlotte, Chicago, Cincinnati, Columbus, Dallas, Detroit, Houston, Indianapolis, Minneapolis, Nashville, Orlando, Raleigh, San Antonio, Sarasota, and Tampa.\nJob Summary:\nThe Land Acquisition Manager for M/I Homes (NYSE “MHO”) coordinates and assists in the acquisition and development of real estate into residential communities.\nSalary Range: $100,000 - $180,000 per year.\nThis position is eligible for an annual bonus at the discretion of management, based upon considerations that include the division’s and candidate’s overall performance.\nDuties and Responsibilities:\nSources and acquires land for the development of communities in the Minneapolis Market.\nPrepares land acquisition packages for presentation and corporate approval.\nPerforms project underwriting and generates letters of intent (LOI’s).\nAssists in the land entitlement process.\nDevelops and maintains property contact listings through continuous research and analysis of available land; establishes and maintains builder and developer contacts for available lots.\nAssists in the evaluation process and inspection of land under consideration.\nMonitors inventory of available excess lots for sale by other builders and developers.\nGenerates Competitive Market Analysis (CMA) on a regular basis.\nMeets with seller/engineers/planners/municipalities/other agencies as required for each property under consideration.\nAssists with special projects as requested and performs additional duties as required.\nRequirements\nMinimum Education Experience:\nBachelor’s degree in business, real estate, or civil engineering. 3-5 years’ experience in real estate acquisitions (residential a plus). Ability to drive the market requires a valid driver’s license and good driving record.\nSkills and Abilities:\n Must be a self-starter with the ability to think critically.
