We’re interested in the early versions, false starts, details, decisions and unexpected turns that sit behind iconic works that people already know and love.\nOur goal is to create a must-follow YouTube channel for creative people: designers, writers, filmmakers, photographers, makers, and anyone curious about how great creative work comes together.\nAbout the role\nWe’re looking for a host to be the face of The Work Behind The Work.\nYou’ll help guide viewers through the stories behind remarkable creative projects. This isn’t about being the world’s foremost expert on every subject. We’re looking for someone with genuine curiosity: the kind of person who finds something fascinating, goes down the rabbit hole, and can’t wait to bring others along.\nYou’ll be comfortable on camera, but more importantly, you’ll have taste. The series is about craft and obsession, so we’re looking for someone who cares about the work people put into making things-without taking themselves too seriously.\nThe role will involve hosting documentary-style YouTube episodes, working closely with our talented production partners and the Milanote team. Filming will take place in Los Angeles, so you’ll need to be based in the LA area or willing to travel there for shoots.\nWe’re initially producing a small number of episodes, with the potential for this to become an ongoing series.\nYou might be a great fit if you\nAre a natural storyteller with warmth, curiosity and a clear point of view\nFeel comfortable speaking to camera in a way that feels engaging and unforced\nHave an interest in creative work, design, film, photography, art, culture or making things\nCan make a complex idea feel accessible without oversimplifying it\nNotice the details and enjoy learning how things are made\nHave some experience creating, presenting or appearing in video content-whether professionally or through your own projects\nAre based in the Los Angeles area, or can travel to LA for filming\nWe’d especially love to hear from people who are involved in a creative practice of their own.\nAbout Milanote\nMilanote is a web-based tool for organising creative projects. It’s used by millions of designers, writers, filmmakers and other creative professionals around the world.\nWe care deeply about quality, design and user experience. The Work Behind The Work is an opportunity to celebrate the people and processes behind creative work-and to make something genuinely useful and inspiring for the creative community.\nHow to apply\n1) Please begin by completing our application form.\nWe’ll ask for your contact details, information about your past experience, and links to your social channels or examples of you on camera.\n2) When you've done that, you can click Apply for this job below to complete your submission.","description_format":"text","description_chars":3011,"description_truncated":false,"requirements":{"experience_years_min":null,"management_years_min":null,"team_size_min":null,"manages_managers":false,"education":null,"security_clearance":false,"languages":[]},"benefits":[],"hiring_locations":[],"hiring_excludes":[],"relocation_offered":false,"industries":["Design & Creative","Media & Entertainment","Creative Agencies"],"lifecycle":[{"event":"open","at":"2026-10-12T02:09:35Z"}],"visa":[],"liveness":{"score":72,"band":"hot","label":"Hiring now","p_open":1,"p_active":0.716,"p_room":1,"age_days":8,"expected_fill_days":56,"reasons":["conf:0","win:early"],"computed_at":"2026-10-20T05:45:00Z"},"pay":null,"html_url":"https://alion.io/job/milanote-host-the-work-behind-the-work","json_url":"https://alion.io/job/milanote-host-the-work-behind-the-work.json","meta":{"generated_at":"2026-10-20T13:34:59Z","cache_seconds":300,"methodology":"https://alion.io/methodology","terms":"https://alion.io/terms","contact":"https://alion.io/contact","api":"https://alion.io/developers","about":"Alion is a live layer of people, companies and AI agents: who they are, whether they are real and active right now, what they do and how to work with them, readable by people and by agents and paid per call.","catalog":"https://alion.io/catalog.json","usage":{"tier":"crawler_verified","counted_by":"address","units_charged":1,"used_today":15099,"day_limit":null,"remaining_today":null,"minute_limit":300,"resets_at":"2026-10-21T00:00:00Z"}},"offers":[{"id":"company.slices","title":"One company in depth, by slice","status":"live","price":{"credits":0.02,"usd":0.002,"plus_per_slice":{"credits":0.05,"usd":0.005}},"unit":"per company, plus each slice with data","note":"the employer in depth","call":{"mcp_tool":"get_company","arguments":{"id":182944},"rest":"https://alion.io/mcp/rest/get_company?id=182944"},"human":"https://alion.io/catalog?offer=company.slices&for=job%2Fmilanote-host-the-work-behind-the-work"},{"id":"market.stats","title":"A market slice: pay, demand and time to fill","status":"live","price":{"credits":1,"usd":0.1},"unit":"per slice","note":"pay, demand and time to fill for this role and place","call":{"mcp_tool":"market_stats"},"human":"https://alion.io/catalog?offer=market.stats&for=job%2Fmilanote-host-the-work-behind-the-work"},{"id":"job.search","title":"Open jobs by role, technology, place, pay and visa","status":"live","price":{"credits":0.02,"usd":0.002},"unit":"per posting in a list","note":"similar open postings","call":{"mcp_tool":"search_jobs"},"human":"https://alion.io/catalog?offer=job.search&for=job%2Fmilanote-host-the-work-behind-the-work"},{"id":"company.verify","title":"Is this company real and active right now","status":"pilot","price":null,"unit":"per company","request":{"url":"https://alion.io/catalog/request","method":"POST","body":"{\"offer\": \"company.verify\", \"for\": \"job/milanote-host-the-work-behind-the-work\", \"note\": \"what you need it for\"}"},"human":"https://alion.io/catalog?offer=company.verify&for=job%2Fmilanote-host-the-work-behind-the-work"}]}
