The Conflicts Attorney will be a member of the Conflicts Team and work closely with the Office of General Counsel to support the Firm’s critical risk management function and is primarily responsible for reviewing and analyzing conflict reports in connection with business intake (new clients and matters) and laterals. We will consider a fully remote work schedule with flexibility to visit the office as required for training and team meetings. The shift will be 1:00 PM - 9:00 PM PST.\nResponsibilities\nReview complex conflict reports to identify and resolve potential legal and business-related conflict issues, and provide detailed analysis and advice to partners, and collaborate with partners to resolve conflicts.\n\nPrepare communications to attorneys, clearly identifying all potential issues and assist with the business and ethical conflict resolution.\n\nProcure, review and draft conflict waivers for new matters work closely with partners and to obtain the waivers, as necessary.\n\nPrepare and implement ethical walls, including drafting screening memoranda for matters and laterals.\n\nDocument or audit steps taken to resolve any actual or potential conflicts and store supporting documentation appropriately.\n\nAnalyze and review new business intake data, forms, and engagement terms to assist with the new business intake process and ensure the accuracy of the data.\n\nReview conflicts questionnaires submitted by lawyer and staff candidates and communicate directly with candidates regarding any clarifications.\n\nConduct analysis on lateral matter lists to identify actual and/or potential conflicts and collaborate with partners and laterals to resolve any issues, including drafting and obtaining necessary waivers.\n\nProvide guidance to the conflicts analysts in support of the new business intake process, including best practices, corporate family tree research, matter maintenance, conflict report preparation, and other related research and analysis. \n\nRun conflict searches and conduct family tree and other corporate research, when necessary.\n\nResearch appropriate conflict and ethical rules. \n\nMonitor changes in ethics rules, opinions, and case law regarding conflicts of interest.\n\nBe available for urgent matters and periodic on-call rotation, occasional evening hours, weekends, and certain holidays as needed.\n\nAll other duties as assigned.\n\nCompensation: -The anticipated base salary range offered for this role will be between $190K to $225K and represents the firm’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible base compensation. Actual base compensation will be dependent upon several factors, including but not limited to the candidate’s relevant experience, performance, qualifications, degrees, and location, well as the needs of the firm.\nQualifications\nJuris Doctor degree and active law license (NY, DC, or CA) in good standing is required.\n\nComprehensive working knowledge of ethical, legal and risk management rules, including the New York Rules of Professional Conduct, American Bar Association’s Model Rules of Professional Conduct and rules governing professional conduct of lawyers in the United Kingdom, Germany, and Asia is preferred.\n\n4 years of conflicts-attorney experience preferred;
