You are equally comfortable rolling up your sleeves to manage day-to-day accounting activities as you are providing strategic financial guidance and leadership.\nAs a key member of the leadership team, you will oversee all accounting and financial functions, provide meaningful business insights, support operational decision-making, and help position the company for continued growth.\nWhat You'll Do\nFinancial Leadership & Reporting\nLead all accounting operations, including full-cycle accounting, month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes.\nPrepare accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and management reports.\nMaintain strong accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls.\nReview reconciliations, journal entries, and financial records prepared by accounting staff.\nCoordinate annual review engagements and liaise with external accountants and auditors.\nFinancial Planning & Analysis\nDevelop and maintain cash flow forecasts and liquidity plans.\nLead annual budgeting and forecasting processes.\nAnalyze financial performance and provide meaningful variance analysis.\nSupport pricing strategies, margin analysis, and project profitability assessments.\nEvaluate capital investments and provide financial recommendations on growth initiatives.\nTreasury, Banking & Financing\nManage banking relationships and day-to-day treasury functions.\nPrepare financing applications and support lending renewals.\nMonitor loan covenants and lender reporting requirements.\nOptimize cash management processes and working capital.\nCoordinate foreign exchange transactions and manage currency exposure.\nCompliance & Risk Management\nOversee payroll administration and related remittances.\nCoordinate GST, corporate tax filings, and other regulatory requirements.\nEnsure compliance with federal and provincial legislation.\nManage WorkSafeBC reporting and related obligations.\nSupport risk management initiatives and insurance renewals.\nBusiness Partnership\nAct as a trusted advisor to ownership and senior management.\nProvide financial insights and recommendations to support operational and strategic decision-making.\nCoordinate with external advisors including lawyers, accountants, banks, and insurance providers.\nWork closely with First Nations business partners to support strategic initiatives, promote shared economic opportunities, and contribute to successful long-term partnerships.\nParticipate in business planning and growth initiatives.\nSystems & Team Development\nIdentify opportunities for process improvements, efficiencies, and automation.\nSupport accounting software implementations, upgrades, and conversions.\nDevelop and document financial procedures and controls.\nRecruit, train, mentor, and develop accounting team members as the organization grows.\nWhat You Bring\nCPA designation preferred.\n7-10+ years of progressive accounting and financial leadership experience.\nExperience within manufacturing, forestry, sawmill operations, logistics, transportation, industrial operations, or other asset-intensive businesses.\nStrong understanding of financial reporting, budgeting, cash flow management, treasury, trade finance, and internal controls.\nExperience working within privately-owned, entrepreneurial, or growth-oriented organizations.\nDemonstrated ability to operate both strategically and tactically.\nStrong leadership, communication, and relationship-building skills.\nExperience with accounting system implementations or software conversions is considered an asset.\nExperience with QuickBooks, Richmond Systems, or similar ERP/accounting platforms.\nWho You Are\nYou are a practical, solutions-oriented finance professional who thrives in an entrepreneurial environment.
