For more information, visit www.milhaus.com.\nSummary of Position Functions\nThe Corporate Controller is a key finance leader responsible for overseeing accounting operations, financial reporting, internal controls, compliance, and accounts payable activities across the organization. This role will be a key leader in the accounting function for corporate operations, real estate development/construction projects and our property management company ensuring accurate financial reporting, strong internal controls, and adherence to GAAP and industry -specific accounting requirements.\nThe Corporate Controller partners closely with executive leadership operations, development, project management, auditors, and tax advisors to support strategic decision-making, optimize financial performance, and ensure the financial integrity of the organization.\nEssential Position Functions\nCorporate Accounting & Financial Reporting\nLead accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, financial reporting and tax compliance.\nPrepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with U.S. GAAP.\nManage month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.\nDevelop and maintain accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls.\nEnsure compliance with applicable financial reporting requirements, debt covenants, and regulatory obligations.\nOversee annual financial statement audits and coordinate with external auditors.\nPartner with executive leadership to provide financial analyses, forecasts, and strategic recommendations.\nDrive process improvements and automation initiatives to enhance accounting efficiency and reporting capabilities.\nSupport budgeting, forecasting, and long-range financial planning activities.\nConstruction & Development Accounting\nOversee accounting and financial reporting for multifamily residential, mixed-use, and land development projects.\nEnsure proper accounting treatment for construction costs, land acquisition, development expenditures, capitalization, and project allocations.\nManage project cost accounting systems and maintain accurate job cost reporting.\nReview and approve monthly project draws, lien waivers, and lender reporting packages.\nTrack work-in-progress (WIP) schedules and construction-in-progress accounting.\nManage project closeout accounting, asset capitalization, and transition to operating entities.\nMonitor project profitability, return-on-investment metrics, and development performance indicators.\nInternal Controls, Compliance & Risk Management\nMaintain a strong internal control environment across corporate and project operations.\nEnsure compliance with federal, state, and local tax requirements.\nOversee accounting for multi-entity and multi-project organizational structures.\nMonitor adherence to company policies and financial controls.\nEvaluate financial risks associated with development projects and operating assets.\nImplement best practices related to fraud prevention, cash management, and financial governance.\nLeadership & Team Development\nBuild, lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing accounting organization.\nEstablish performance expectations and development plans for team members.\nFoster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.\nSupport cross-functional partnerships with development, construction, legal, asset management, and operations teams.\nSupervisory Responsibilities\nDirectly and indirectly supervises team members on the Corporate Accounting team. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with Milhaus’s policies and applicable laws.
