This position reports directly to Milhouse’s VP of Civil / Transportation and works in a collaborative environment that promotes innovation, work-life balance, and professional growth.\nWhat you'll do:\nLead and manage a civil engineering design team of three to six people, providing mentorship and technical guidance.\nOversee and assist with the development and production of site and utility design plans and specifications from start to finish for public and private clients in Illinois \nDesign tasks typically include the oversight / development of conceptual site layouts, demo, grading, utility, drainage/ storm sewer plans and permitting\nMaintain / grow positive client relationships and assist with business development efforts to continue expansion of our transportation project portfolio\nCoach, mentor and develop staff while promoting a culture of innovation and work-life balance\nAssure that Quality Assurance/Quality Control is being performed on every project \nWork on and manage billable projects for a majority of your time. Initially, this will likely include:\nChicago Housing Authority - Brooks Homes underground infrastructure\nPublic Building Commission - Shoreline Mitigation Project\nChicago Dept of Transportation - Program Management Consultant for Chicago Works\nWho you are:\nBachelor's degree or higher in Civil Engineering \nA minimum of 10 years of progressive experience designing site-civil projects which includes 5 years of managing multiple design teams performing the work\nRegistration as a Professional Engineer (PE) in Illinois is required\nStrong leadership, communication, and project management skills, with the ability to motivate and mentor a team\nTechnical background and experience managing projects for public agencies (CDB, PBC, CHA, CDOT), architects or developers that utilize AutoCAD Civil 3d or other site-civil / drainage related software \nExperience preparing civil engineering / utility plan sheets and specifications for site development and building projects \nExcellent time management and problem-solving abilities, with keen attention to detail and quality\nRobust organization and communication skills as required to create / execute project plans and respond to client requirements\nAt Milhouse, we’re more than just a place to work - we’re a place to grow, thrive, and be celebrated.
