The Center is located in a restored historic building complex in Washington, DC, on Pennsylvania Avenue steps from the White House and across from the US Treasury.

About the Internship

MCAAD seeks a paid Intern to support the Center’s team in Washington, DC, starting in September 2026.

The Intern will provide general support to the MCAAD team. Representative duties include conducting research, updating information in databases and contact lists, providing on-site operational support, and helping team members prepare for meetings and associated follow up. Additional duties may include filing, scanning, and organizing records; assisting with event and public-program logistics, registration, materials, and guest check-in; supporting development, marketing, and educational efforts; and generally supporting office needs.

The Intern will report to the President of MCAAD and will support MCAAD leaders and staff on an ongoing basis.

Qualifications

  • Working towards obtaining a bachelor's degree
  • Ability to multi-task while handling complex projects in a fast-paced environment
  • Self-starter and hard worker displaying high productivity and follow-through in all areas of responsibility
  • A team-oriented individual who seeks out tasks when work is completed and assists co-workers to ensure goals, requirements and deadlines are achieved
  • An attitude of "no job is too small" and attention to detail that ensures rewarding experiences and outcomes for supporters and other stakeholders
  • Skilled at working with people and able to interact positively with all levels of an organization
  • Effective oral/written communication and data management abilities
  • Ability to use critical, creative thinking to solve problems large and small

  • Ability to work independently, both in the office and from home; the intern must produce quality work under minimal supervision during any periods of working remotely
  • Strong computer skills: Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) and Salesforce is a plus

Working Conditions & Travel Requirements

This position will work in a professional office environment on a hybrid schedule consisting of three (3) days per week reporting in-person to the Washington, DC office location (Tuesday - Thursday), with the remaining two (2) days working remotely. Please understand, this schedule is subject to change at the Institute’s sole discretion.

This person will also be required to travel occasionally to other offices and/or venues to assist with events as needed, requiring occasional work outside of traditional hours. Additionally, this position requires interacting virtually on a regular basis with Milken Institute staff based in other locations in the United States and around the world.
