Position Overview: We are seeking an experienced, organized, and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join our Denver corporate office. Reporting to the Controller, this position plays a key role in the monthly close process, financial reporting, account reconciliations, financial analysis, and other higher-level accounting functions.
The Senior Accountant will work closely with the accounting team to help ensure accurate financial reporting, maintain strong internal controls, and support the overall financial operations of the company.
This is not a remote position; it is located at our Denver, Colorado, corporate office.
Salary Range: $85,000 - $95,000 Annually
What You’ll Do:
- Month-End Close: Assist with and help direct monthly close activities, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial reporting.
- Financial Reporting: Prepare monthly financial reporting packages and analyze balance sheet and expense accounts.
- Account Reconciliations: Review and reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, intercompany accounts, and general ledger accounts for multiple entities.
- Accounting Operations: Work with the accounting team on daily accounting functions, variance analysis, and internal and external financial reporting.
- Internal Controls: Help maintain accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls designed to protect company assets and ensure accurate financial reporting.
- Financial Analysis: Perform financial analysis as needed to identify issues, evaluate opportunities, and support business decisions.
- Audit Support: Assist the Controller with the annual financial audit and 401(k) audit.
- Tax Reporting: Participate in the preparation of quarterly and annual sales and use tax returns.
Requirements
What We’re Looking For:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting or equivalent work experience.
- Experience: 5-7 years of accounting experience.
- Accounting Knowledge: Strong knowledge of general ledger accounting, account reconciliations, month-end close, journal entries, and financial reporting.
- Tech Skills: Strong working knowledge of accounting software, including QuickBooks, payroll systems, and Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and Word.
- Analytical Skills: Strong attention to detail with the ability to analyze financial information, identify discrepancies, and solve problems.
- Communication: Ability to communicate effectively and work collaboratively with team members and management.
