Build interactive and responsive UIs using the latest technologies including Node, React and Next.js. Test and debug applications, identify, track and resolve defects and provide technical leadership within the development team. Responsible for leading and collaborating with internal and external business partners to determine systems design within project scope and strategic direction of Herman Miller. Provide creative thinking and deep understanding in UX definition and UI design. This role transcends organizational and geographical boundaries as it aims at supporting and enabling the various divisions of the MillerKnoll business across the globe. The ideal candidate should understand the software \ndevelopment lifecycle and use agile methodology to design, develop, test, and implement solutions that deliver on end-user needs.\nResponsibilities \nApplies problem solving skills and executes solutions to problems independently. \nAssist Product Owners in defining new features and translating technical requirements. \nWorks closely with Product Management, UX and Design, giving input on what is both intuitive and feasible. \nDevelop and optimize UIs to ensure web applications are rendered consistently in cross-browser and cross-device environments. \nContribute to front end architectural improvements and create shared visual components that span our products. \nTranslate epics, stories and requirements into technical tasks. \nClearly communicate status and open issues to development team and leads. \nCreate front-end coding standard and best practices. \nPrototype and develop new ideas and participate in all parts of the lifecycle from research to release. \nContribute to building a digital culture based on collaboration, inclusion, support, and constant improvement. \nReview the work of fellow engineers in a collegial fashion to ensure code quality and consistency. \nParticipate in Communities of Practice in areas of development in which you have particular interest.\nRequirements \nDrive change, including programs that improve developer productivity and reduce time to market. \nBachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field. \n8+ years of hands-on UI engineering experience building web applications with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. \nAptitude to independently learn new technologies. \nSuperior ability to identify and resolve complex problems. \nAdvanced understanding of JavaScript frameworks. \nExtensive experience with common front-end development tools.\nSenior Developer - UI \nLocation: Bangalore - India \nExperience building Server Side React (SSR) applications preferred. \nExperience developing within enterprise content management systems. \nExperience with e-commerce and enterprise e-commerce platforms. \nExperience with modern web architectures and asynchronous service-to-service communication. \nExperience working within an Agile and Scrum based development model. \nExperience writing accessible code and advanced knowledge of WCAG standards. \nWell versed with unit testing & debugging techniques, particularly with front-end code. \nMust be self-motivated, detail oriented, possess good analytical and problem-solving skills and function well in a self-directed, team-oriented environment. \nDemonstrates excellent written and verbal communication skills. \nStrong analysis skills and ability to translate business needs into technical solutions. \nExperience working on an Agile development team preferably using SCRUM. \nActive participation through all phases of the development lifecycle. \nExcellent written and verbal communication and collaboration skills. \nSelf-driven, motivated, result oriented. Aptitude to independently learn new technologies. \nStrong organizational skills to deal with a varied workload and be responsive to the needs of the business \nUnderstands the necessity of and contributes to efficient coding standards \nDemonstrated ability to influence and consult (providing options with pros, cons and risks) around all key technical decisions during project delivery. \nAbility to effectively use office automation, communication, software and tools currently used in the HMI office environment. \nAbility to make use of available and appropriate AI tools in the org and contribute to productivity improvement \nMust be able to perform all essential functions of the position with or without supervision \nThis role will work in the shift timings of 12:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M. or 2:00 P.M. to 11:00 P.M. IST. The employees could be requested to work in a different shift on rare occasions to support the business during a critical issue or for any releases/migrations that maybe scheduled. \nLocation of work is Bangalore, India.
