As leaders in code consulting and municipal compliance, we are proud to help shape the skylines of tomorrow through excellence in navigating regulations, accelerating approvals, and supporting our clients every step of the way.\nPosition Overview\nWe are seeking an Architectural Specifications Writer to support the development of construction contract specifications and provide technical guidance for architectural project documentation. This remote-based role will collaborate closely with project architects and the broader design team to ensure accurate, coordinated, and high-quality specifications.\nWhat You’ll Do\nAssist in developing contract specifications based on the design direction, documentation, and guidance provided by the Architect.\nEvaluate and recommend alternative materials and systems where appropriate, providing written commentary for Architect review.\nPrepare preliminary written addenda, as needed, to clarify or complete the Architectural Specifications.\nStay current with new building products, system developments, construction methods, code changes, and industry trends.\nPrepare and send coordination memos outlining required information from each project team member prior to developing specifications.\nProvide clarification on issued specification documents during design and construction phases, as required.\nWhat You’ll Bring\nRequired:\nMinimum 10+ years of experience preparing architectural specifications.\nExperience in Construction Administration, including project startup through closeout, is a plus.\nExcellent written and verbal communication skills, with strong organization and analytical capabilities.\nStrong understanding of construction materials and methods, building codes, regulations, industry standards, MasterFormat, and common project delivery methods.\nAbility to self-organize and manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.\nProficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.\nPreferred:\nBachelor’s degree in Architecture, Architectural Technology, or Construction Management.\nExperience across a diverse range of project types.\nProfessional certifications such as LEED or Certified Construction Specifier (CCS).\nPassive House and/or Living Building Challenge certification is a plus.\nKnowledge of zero-emissions strategies including carbon reduction, net-zero energy readiness, sustainability frameworks, and resilience planning.\nWork Environment & Schedule\nThis is a remote position with standard working hours Monday-Friday, 9am - 5pm EST.\nCompensation & Benefits\nSalary range: $90,000 - $100,000, based on knowledge, skills, and experience.\nComprehensive health, dental, and vision, insurance, and 401K plan with a match.\nPaid time off: Holiday, vacation, sick time, personal and birthday.\nCareer development and growth opportunities.\nMilrose Consultants, LLC is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
