Depending on the location and assignment, the technician will be responsible for some or all of the functions and duties listed below. This is a union position.\nBenefits include:\nPaid Time Off + 8 company paid holidays\nMedical, Dental and Vision insurance options for Employee and Family \nDisability & Life Insurance Packages\nCompetitive Retirement Plan \nTuition Reimbursement - available to FT employees with 1 year+ of service\nAdditional supplemental offerings and discount programs\nEmployee Referral Program\nResponsibilities\nRemoves, disassembles, assembles, and installs components and parts.\nIdentify the problem and cause of failure through logical troubleshooting steps.\nDetermines reusability of parts in accordance with published Caterpillar reusability guidelines.\nOrders replacement parts ensuring that parts ordered are correct and complete at time of order.\nCleans, repairs, reconditions, and maintains engines, generators and components.\nTests, measures, and adjusts engine and power system components.\nPrepares, inspects and operates engines and generators prior to completion.\nKeeps up to date with developments in tooling, technologies and systems.\nPrepares inspection and appraisal reports.\nPrepares accurate and complete service reports timely.\nMaintain a professional and proper personal appearance at all times adhering to company policy.\nFlexible to work after hours when needed to meet customer needs.\nPerforms related duties as assigned.\nQualifications\nTo perform this job successfully an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and ability required.\nHigh school diploma or (GED) equivalent.\n3-5 years’ experience on CAT engines/power systems or similar equipment\nAbility to diagnose and repair CAT power systems equipment and components in the field.\nDOT certification required.\nProficient in the use of a computer and related software (Word, Excel, etc.).\nStrong problem-solving skills and be detailed oriented with a high level of accuracy.\nAbility to operate a service vehicle.\nValid driver’s license and a safe driving record.\nOperates and maintains field service vehicle with GVW of less than 26,000 lbs.\nBasic math skills.\nAble to lift up to 50 pounds.\nAbility to perform duties with a sense of urgency, exceeding customer expectations.\nAbility to work with minimal supervision.\nMust be able to work in a dynamic, fast paced service environment.\nMaintain a tool inventory sufficient to perform assigned tasks.\nCDL A or B a plus.\nThis job description is not intended to be all-inclusive.
