Overview

Milton CAT is seeking experienced Earthmoving Service Technicians. Technicians are responsible for the diagnosis, repair, reconditioning, overhaul and maintenance of customer and company heavy equipment and components. Depending on the location and assignment, the technician will be responsible for some or all of the functions and duties listed below. These repairs may require working hours in addition to the normal work schedule for emergency calls or routine service as required.

Pay Rate: Minimum starting wage of $30.52 - $38.46 per hour based on location and experience. This is a union position.

Responsibilities

  • Removes, disassembles, assembles, and installs components and parts
  • Identify the problem and cause of failure through logical troubleshooting steps
  • Clean, repair, recondition, and maintain equipment and components
  • Prepare, inspect, and operate machines prior to delivery
  • Keep up to date with developments in tooling, technologies and systems
  • Prepares accurate inspections and completes service reports
  • Adhere to all established safety protocols and standards and utilizes appropriate PPE
  • Flexible to work after hours when needed to meet customer needs

Qualifications

  • Heavy equipment repair experience preferred, experience with diesel equipment, engines, or automotive also a plus
  • Strong problem-solving skills and be detailed oriented with a high level of accuracy
  • Proficient in the use of a computer
  • Ability to perform duties with a sense of urgency, exceeding customer expectations
  • Must be able to work in a dynamic, fast paced service environment with minimal supervision
  • Maintain a tool inventory sufficient to perform assigned tasks
  • Ability to meet physical demands of the position
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent; Associates Degree or experience on CAT heavy equipment preferred
