If you are experienced in both, we are really looking for you! Reporting to the Coordinator, Recreation, these positions deliver group fitness classes appropriate for all levels and abilities of participants. Successful candidates must be able to work variable hours including evenings and weekends.\nMajor Job Responsibilities\nDeliver and conduct barre and/or Pilates fitness programs following the required industry standards\n\nModify classes to appeal to all fitness levels of the program participants\n\nCreate a welcoming, inclusive and safe atmosphere for participants to actively participate\n\nSet-up and take down required equipment\n\nMaintain a safe and clean facility; including proper usage and storage of equipment\n\nReport any accidents, incidents, concerns or site damage to the immediate Supervisor\n\nMaintain and submit attendance records\n\nSubmit all required forms ensuring accuracy and completeness of information to immediate Supervisor\n\nEstablish positive relationships, clear communication channels and work cooperatively with all staff and participants\n\nProvide excellent customer service\n\nAttend and participate in mandatory staff functions: training, meetings and allocated program times\n\nComply with all health and safety practices as it relates to the work, standard operating guidelines and the Occupational Health and Safety Act\n\nPerform all other duties as assigned in accordance with department objectives\n\nEducation & Experience\nValid barre certification (American Barre Technique) or equivalent if applying for Barre\nValid Pilates certification (Stott Pilates ®) or equivalent if applying for Pilates.\nValid group fitness instructor certification (Canfitpro F.I.S. or equivalent) is preferred, or willingness to obtain certification\nCurrent Standard First Aid and CPR Level “C” certification is a requirement\nExperience instructing fitness classes or working within the fitness field\nStrong program planning skills\nSuperior instructional and coaching skills\nAbility to work well independently and in a team environment\nStrong leadership, interpersonal, communication and customer service skills\nEffective organizational, time management and problem-solving skills\nExperience working in a recreational setting is considered an asset\nExperience working with persons with exceptionalities and older adults is considered an asset\nIn accordance with the Corporate Criminal Record Check Policy, the position requires the incumbent to submit a Criminal Records Check with Vulnerable Sector Screening upon employment.\nNote to Applicants\nThis posting is for an existing job vacancy.\nThe Town is an equal opportunity employer, committed to fostering a diverse, inclusive, accessible, and respectful workplace.
