Proactively communicate program needs to facility operations staff and communicate any facility or equipment deficiencies to supervisor.\n\nEvaluate situations for potential risks and proactively take action to address such risks. Communicate any action or concerns to supervisor.\n\nMaintain communication with customer service desk to provide relevant program updates and to request support in the event of an emergency\n\nMaintain a high level of professionalism and handle sensitive situations with mature judgement.\n\nProvides suggestions to supervisor on ways to enhance the customer experience\n\nComply with all health and safety practices as it relates to the work, standard operating guidelines and the Occupational Health and Safety Act\n\nAdministrative Tasks:\nDevelop and prepare a material list and lesson plans to meet the needs of the program and participants\n\nModify lesson plans as necessary based on program participant needs\n\nProvide lesson plans, regular updates and feedback to immediate Supervisor\n\nAttend all mandatory staff functions: training, meetings and all allocated program times\n\nReport any incidents, to the Supervisor, ensuring all appropriate forms are filled out accurately and completed\n\nSubmit required forms (including payroll)\n\nMaintain accurate attendance and other administrative records as required\n\nEducation & Experience\nEducation & Experience\nSecondary School Diploma Preferred\nPost-Secondary Education related to specialized field is preferred\nMinimum of five (5) years teaching/program instruction experience\nExperience working with targeted age group Certifications or Designations is an asset\nStandard First Aid and CPR C\nHIGH FIVE® Principles of Healthy Child Development (children’s programs)\nCertifications/workshops in a related field and Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) or equivalent is as asset\nExpert knowledge and aptitude in a specific area of interest (e.g. art history, including contemporary practice, languages, music, dance, wellness)\nMaster level expertise in variety of techniques and practice specific to the area of interest (e.g. painting, drawing, ceramics, pottery, hand building, clay sculpture, languages, music, dance, wellness)\nExpert in one or more artistic techniques, practices and materials in a minimum of one area of the following interests/skills: painting, drawing, ceramics, pottery, hand building, clay sculpture)\nStrong problem solving skills with the ability to work well independently and in a team environment\nSuperior instructional and facilitation skills\nSatisfactory Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Screening\nExcellent interpersonal and communication skills\nEffective program planning and service delivery skills\nNote to Applicants\nThis posting is for an existing job vacancy.\nThe Town is an equal opportunity employer, committed to fostering a diverse, inclusive, accessible, and respectful workplace.
