Provides engineering support on mid-level complexity projects under the supervision of department manager.\nWork cross-functionally and globally with Advanced Quality Engineering, Product Marketing, Industrial Design, Purchasing, Finance, and numerous other departments.\nEvaluate product designs relative to the selection, cost and resolution of problems associated with materials, heat treatment and finishes.\nMaintain regular communication with manufacturing cells and suppliers to advance product development and production readiness. Conduct on-site visits and troubleshooting analyses as needed.\nMonitor & Track project progress and provide weekly project status updates to senior management and the project team.\nRequest and perform tests per established procedures.\nInterpret data and make corresponding design recommendations.\nEducation and Experience Requirements\nBachelor of Science Degree in Engineering or educational equivalent is required. Preferred degree in Mechanical Engineering.\nMinimum of 2 years of relevant working experience.\nAbility to travel domestically and overseas (mainly Asia) several times of year as needed.\nAbility to manage several simultaneous projects is a plus.\nHighly developed Mechanical/Electrical aptitude is required including a broad knowledge of engineering materials used in small appliances or power tools, and an understanding of the manufacturing processes associated with these materials.\nAbility to use CAD is required.
