This role serves as a key technical leader on New Product Development projects and helps guide engineering decisions across cross-functional teams.\nDuties and Responsibilities\nChief technical resource and mechanical engineering leader on mid/high complexity Hand Tool New Product Development projects.\n\nProvide clear engineering information and technical recommendations to Project Leaders and Global Engineering teams, facilitating tradeoff decisions involving product performance, durability, manufacturability, cost, schedule, and user experience.\n\nDefine validation strategies and establish test regimens for components, mechanisms, and assemblies within area of scope. Deliver complete data analysis to support design recommendations, product development decisions, and project convergence.\n\nIndependently develop, execute, and analyze laboratory and field-testing programs. Draw concise, logical conclusions from data and communicate findings to project stakeholders.\n\nServe as a technical resource on areas of expertise and provide consultation, design reviews, and mentorship to other engineers.\n\nIdentify, communicate, and help mitigate technical risks related to product performance, reliability, manufacturability, supplier capability, and project timing.\n\nExecute a wide variety of calculations and software aided analyses in the following areas:\nMechanical stress analysis\n\nTolerance stack analyses\n\nMechanism design, kinematic evaluation, and force transmission analysis\n\nProduct durability, fatigue, and failure analysis\n\nErgonomic evaluation and user-focused design optimization\n\nPartner with manufacturing, quality, sourcing, and suppliers to develop robust product designs, resolve technical challenges, and support successful production launches.\n\nLead technical investigations, competitive product evaluations, and root cause analyses to support product improvements, issue resolution, and future product development opportunities.\n\nJob Requirements\nBachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Engineering Mechanics, Masters preferred.\n\n5+ years of design experience.\n\nStrong proficiency in 3D CAD including Creo (Pro/E), SolidWorks, NX, or similar CAD platforms.\n\nExperience utilizing engineering analysis tools, such as FEA and hand calculations to support mechanical design and development activities.\n\nDeep mechanical aptitude is required, including a broad knowledge of engineering materials, mechanical properties and a robust understanding of manufacturing processes.\n\nDemonstrated ability to influence technical decisions and effectively collaborate within cross-functional product development teams.\n\nHigh interest in tools of the construction trades and a strong understanding of end-user applications and jobsite needs.\n\nAbility to travel up to 10% (travel includes
