Project team members are led by a Project Leader and include Engineering, Marketing, Purchasing, Quality, and Manufacturing. Primary duties are to lead and direct the advanced quality and reliability activities of project teams to successfully meet Project Quality/Reliability Objectives as well as project goals including Supplier Development, Time-To-Market, Cost, and Performance. The primary duty of this position is to serve as a Quality & Reliability expert to the business and projects teams, with minimal supervision. Should be able to demonstrate strong problem-solving & critical thinking skills and show proactiveness in executing deliverables.\nAdministration Responsibilities: \nWork with global teams in Asia and Mexico to execute NPD, Product Support, and Value Engineering projects. Up to 20% travel is required.\nServe as the representative to the Accessories Quality & Reliability team on NPD teams alongside Marketing and Engineering counterparts. Effectively capture and communicate risk and lead alignment towards mitigation and closure.\nResearch, develop and revise Quality Policies, Procedures, System Instructions, Engineering Standards and Work Instructions that govern the operations of the Quality Engineering Department and Quality-related activities of the Corporate Office and the Manufacturing Facility. \nEstablish and maintain a framework and systems for collecting and analyzing product performance, statistical process control, conducting gauge repeatability and reproducibility studies. Write standards and procedures governing the conduct of these activities including the data to be collected, reporting methods, etc.\nFormally lead and capture Supplier Development activities for all NPD projects to ensure stable processes and the manufacturing quality products in a mass production setting. \nQuality Engineering Responsibilities (60%):\nWork with the global quality teams to develop QC mitigation strategies for high-risk specifications.\nCoordinate quality planning activities such as auditing, inspection, and control plans (incoming, in-process and outgoing) that drive user need CtQ requirements through product specifications and into manufacturing processes.\nCollaborate with US, European, and Asian-based manufacturing and supplier representatives to ensure operational readiness of new product launches.\nEnsure manufacturing process stability and capability through the use of advanced statistical methods; including Six Sigma methods, and Ppk and Cpk analysis and interpretation.\nUse advanced statistical analysis to recommend process improvements and value engineering ideas.\nParticipate in the evaluation and selection of suppliers.\nAble to call, lead and conduct global, cross-functional team members with the following participants: New product development engineering, internal/external operations/suppliers, quality, and supply chain.\nProvide technical guidance to the PRC and US-based supplier quality teams.\nIdentify and work on process improvement opportunities within the Quality/Reliability Department, beyond the core project teams.\nMonitor, investigate, and report field product reviews, utilizing various user feedback data streams to determine overall product health and assess risk of product quality.\nReliability Engineering Responsibilities (40%):\nCollaborate with Engineering and Marketing to translate customer needs into product requirements and specifications.\nSupport the product design process including benchmarking and testing of concepts & prototypes.\nDevelop and execute test procedures to validate product specifications and ensure Quality and Reliability readiness.\nLead Risk Assessments (Design and Manufacturing) during the product development cycle.\nPerform reliability analysis, using advanced statistical techniques including Weibull, ANOVA, and other statistical tools.\nInterpret and present advanced statistical data to a cross-functional team in a concise format.\nPerform failure analysis, and recommend solutions with corrective action, as required.\nProactively seek out quality improvements for new and existing products. \nEducation and Experience Requirements:\nBachelor's Degree in Manufacturing, Industrial, Mechanical Engineering or equivalent field, plus 5 years of related work experience\nStrong background in statistical analysis and methodologies\nWorking knowledge of quality/reliability applications such as Minitab and ReliaSoft\nStrong written and verbal
