Design Engineers possess an understanding of general or proposed designs, lead design support teams, and participate in design development and selection. We are looking for a motivated, high energy, top performer with excellent communication skills to work in an agile team environment.\nResponsibilities\nCollaborate with internal and external customers to coordinate and execute new product development projects of varying complexity and scope.\nApply fundamental design engineering principles and practices while working with proposed or updated product concepts and interpretation of customer requirements.\nRespond to questions and concerns from customers, sales, marketing, and suppliers; investigate product concepts, capability, standards, and other needs; communicate with the appropriate groups.\nExecute new product introduction processes to ensure smooth transition of products through all design phases starting with initial assessment and commencing with production launch.\nLead teams regarding draft concepts, technical documentation, product application, testing standards, and related areas; develop and review a variety of reports, documents, and tests, and adjust concepts or activities as needed. \nProvide technical support to production, quality, and other internal departments in a timely manner to solve internal challenges.\nParticipate in design, process, and continuous improvement projects; ensure objectives and timelines are met and collaborate with engineering or production personnel as required to complete projects. \nParticipate in the investigation, evaluation, and recommendation of new processes, materials, and tooling to continually accelerate Minco’s leadership in design and manufacturing solutions, quality, productivity, and innovation.\nSupport the resolution of external inquiries and challenges by responding to questions and concerns from quality, purchasing, and customer service departments in a timely and professional manner.\nEnsure compliance with department policies and procedures and applicable laws, rules, and regulations.\nPerform other duties as identified.\nQualifications\nDemonstrated ability to utilize fundamental design engineering principles and practices.\nOutstanding communication skills, both written and verbal, with prospects, customers, suppliers, third-party agencies, fellow employees, and Management. \nAbility to develop good working relationships with quality, production, sales, purchasing, and engineering groups across the company.\nDemonstrated project management skills.\nAbility to work efficiently with a sense of urgency under conditions of multiple deadlines and changing priorities.\nUnderstanding of Design for Manufacturability.\nAbility to follow new product introduction processes to deliver quality products to customers in a timely manner. \nProficient with Microsoft Office Tools (Excel, Visio, Project, Word, PowerPoint)\nKnowledge of designing within 3D CAD software (Part Modeling, Assemblies, Drawings, etc.)\nExperience writing and executing acceptance and qualification test procedures.\nKnowledge of DOE and Capability Study.\nGraphics/visual aide creation ability.\nUnderstanding of FMEA.\nUnderstanding of metal fabrication (Machining, Casting, Sheet Metal, Welding, etc.).\nQualifications\nBachelor’s Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.\nWork Environment\nGeneral office, engineering and production floor, and manufacturing environments.\nDomestic and/or International Travel might be twenty percent or more, as needed. \nFast-paced, dynamic workload and responsibilities.\nITAR Employment Compliance Statement\nThis position requires compliance with the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).
