Prototype Technicians possess an understanding of the assembly, documentation, and testing of products prior to production launch. They work with engineering and production to support the successful transition of these products to full-scale manufacturing. We are looking for a motivated, high energy, top performer with excellent communication skills to work in a dynamic team environment.\nResponsibilities\nExecutes on the rapid assembly of products, with exceptional quality, utilizing mechanical or electronic equipment as required by the assembly process. \nReads, understands and skillfully follows detailed product documentation to fabricate products - including drawings, schematics, flowcharts, instructions and test plans; contributes to the improvement and refinement of all. \nApplies a variety of assembly and manufacturing skills and techniques, to successfully and quickly navigate uncertainty, mitigate risks and solve manufacturing problems; documents and communicates these situations, and knows when to seek assistance.\nIdentifies design, workflow, or material problems and recommends appropriate adjustments and improvements to stabilize product yield. \nCreates workflow milestones and communicates them to appropriate personnel.\nApplies fundamental Manufacturing/Prototype Technician principles and best practices. \nCollaborates with, advises and responds to questions and concerns from engineers, drafting, planning, production, purchasing and management; investigate product concepts, capability, standards, and other needs; communicate with the appropriate groups.\nExecutes defined new product introduction processes to ensure smooth transition of products through all design phases starting with prototype and concluding with successful production launch.\nProvides technical support to production, quality, and other internal departments in a timely manner to solve internal challenges.\nParticipates in projects focused on continuous improvement and/or the assessment of new processes and materials.\nEnsures compliance with department policies and procedures and applicable laws, rules, and regulations.\nPerforms other duties as identified.\nQualifications\nPreferred Skills:\nOutstanding communication skills, both written and verbal. \nAbility to develop productive working relationships with production, quality, planning, purchasing, and engineering groups across the company.\nExcellent time management and creative problem-solving skills.\nAbility to work efficiently with a sense of urgency under conditions of multiple deadlines and changing priorities.\nAbility to follow new product introduction processes to deliver quality products to customers in a timely manner. \nExperience working with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software.\nProficient with Microsoft Office Tools (Excel, Word)\nExperience executing acceptance and qualification test procedures.\nExperience with lean principles.\nQualifications\nHigh school diploma or equivalent. \nMinimum of 5 years of manufacturing experience, ideally in a similar role with a manufacturing company having diverse products and processes, operating within AS9100 or ISO9001 quality systems.\nWork Environment\nGeneral production floor, and manufacturing environments.\nFast-paced, dynamic workload and responsibilities.\nPay Rate: $25-30\nITAR Employment Compliance Statement\nThis position requires compliance with the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).
