Engineering Uplift Lead

We are searching on behalf of our client for an Engineering Uplift Lead to join a global Enterprise Integration Platform team within a major financial institution's Chief Technology Office. This role is all about driving engineering excellence, improving reliability, automation, performance, and overall developer experience.

You’ll go beyond coordination - identifying opportunities from operational insights, user pain points, and data, then working closely with engineering and product teams to transform those opportunities into tangible improvements. The role requires technical credibility and strong business analysis skills to prioritize and deliver effective solutions.

Requirements

• Discover and prioritise engineering uplift opportunities across the platform using data, telemetry, and user feedback.
• Translate improvement needs into clear, outcome-driven initiatives (e.g., reduce incidents, improve deployment frequency).
• Guide engineering teams with best practices, technical standards, and architectural recommendations.
• Implement and drive adoption of consistent engineering standards (documentation, peer reviews, testing, release practices).
• Remove delivery blockers and optimize ways of working, including dependency management and governance.
• Define KPIs and dashboards to measure impact and influence decision-making with data.
• Coach and mentor engineers to build repeatable, sustainable capabilities.

Benefits

• 5+ years of experience in engineering uplift roles or business analysis for software engineering in enterprise environments.
• Strong hands-on engineering experience (software/platform/SRE/automation).
• Proven track record of leading engineering improvement across multiple teams.
• Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to leverage metrics and operational data for insights.
• Fluent English; experience in Agile methodologies; excellent collaboration and documentation skills.

Nice to have

• Experience in developer experience improvements (CI/CD, templates, automation).
• Understanding of reliability practices (SLOs, observability, toil reduction).
• Exposure to financial services compliance and risk management.
