This is a great opportunity for a student or early-career candidate who is excited to grow technical skills, learn from experienced engineers, and contribute to meaningful projects that have real business impact.\nIn this role, you’ll work alongside Scrum team members and stakeholders, build a stronger understanding of software development best practices, and gain exposure to modern tools and technologies - including the responsible use of AI to improve efficiency, quality, and innovation.\nThe salary for this job is $22/hour.\nWhat You'll Accomplish\nBring an AI-first mindset by using AI-assisted tools and technologies to improve productivity, accelerate problem-solving, enhance quality, automate routine tasks, and support innovation.\nCollaborate with Scrum team members and stakeholders to share deliverable status, provide feedback, and contribute to plans, designs, specifications, source code, test scripts, and documentation.\nBuild a foundational understanding of debugging concepts and the tools used to troubleshoot software issues.\nGrow your technical knowledge with mentorship and guidance from more senior engineers.\nDevelop an awareness of overall service architecture and contribute to basic functions in ways that avoid duplication across codebases and prevent interface-breaking changes.\nUnderstand and apply the importance of security in software design, development, and delivery.\nSkills & Competencies\nAt least three years of education and/or prior Co-op experience.\nFamiliarity with Java, Angular, Oracle, OpenShift, Python, and/or ASP.NET.\nFamiliarity with test automation.\nKnowledge of object-oriented programming and RESTful web services.\nKnowledge of relational databases.\nFamiliarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies.\nSelf-starter mindset with the ability to contribute working software and test automation scripts.\nSound judgment in the ethical, secure, and compliant use of AI technologies while protecting confidential, customer, and company information.\nCuriosity about emerging AI capabilities, tools, and best practices, with the ability to identify opportunities to apply them effectively.\nIntrigue in using AI to streamline workflows, reduce manual effort, improve efficiency, and increase business value.\nAbility to use AI to support technical problem-solving and decision-making while maintaining ownership and accountability for final work products.\nRequirements\nCandidates must be based in the Rochester, NY area and available to work on-site at least three days per week, with a preference for five days per week, Monday through Friday, throughout the Co-op experience.
