Candidates located within approximately 35 miles of Rochester, NY may be asked to work from the office more frequently based on business or team needs.\n\nCompensation\n$90,000 - $140,000\n\nWhat You'll Accomplish\nPartners with customers and cross-functional teams to translate requirements into actionable development tasks and deliver software solutions that meet customer needs.\nDesigns and develops secure, maintainable Java solutions that align with the overall service architecture, using effective abstractions and code isolation to support future enhancements.\nDefines testing scope and approach, validates software functionality, and actively participates in pull requests to improve code quality and ensure adherence to engineering best practices.\nApplies systematic debugging to diagnose and resolve application issues, collaborating with other engineers to investigate challenges that span multiple services.\nBuilds a strong understanding of the team’s applications and develops expertise within key areas of the domain to guide technical decisions and support effective delivery.\nApplies a security-focused approach throughout development, proactively identifying and addressing vulnerabilities in code and peer reviews.\nPartners with other teams to identify dependencies, address roadblocks, and coordinate the efficient implementation of solutions, while maintaining documentation that supports future upgrades and maintenance.\nMentors junior engineers, shares technical knowledge, and provides guidance that strengthens team capabilities and supports continuous improvement.\nApplies an AI-first mindset by effectively leveraging AI-assisted tools and technologies to enhance productivity, accelerate problem-solving, improve quality, automate routine tasks, and drive innovation in the delivery of solutions and services.\nRequirements\nAS or BS degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.\n5+ years of software development experience in Java, Spring Framework, React, Python, MongoDB and Kafka.\nExperience with enterprise development in an Agile environment\nExperience with an RDBMS such as Oracle or SQL Server\nExperience with SOAP and/or REST web services\nExperience with defect tracking software\nExperience with all aspects of the software development lifecycle (SDLC)\nExperience mentoring other coworkers.\nStrong analysis, critical-thinking, and problem-solving skills.\nHighly organized and accurate, with strong initiative and follow-through.\nAptitude and desire to work in a highly collaborative, self-organizing team environment.\nWillingness and ability to give and receive feedback.\nAbility to work independently while asking questions when needed.\nWhy Join Mindex?\nFor more than 30 years, Mindex has helped organizations solve complex business challenges through custom software, cloud, data, and AI solutions.
